Does Self Hypnosis Work?
Well what do you think?
I would say we will have some saying yes while others say no! I would request that before you answer that, you think of any time you have used or tried to use this type of treatment.
In my experience it works in the short term, but needs to be reinforced on a regular basis if it is being used to overcome a deep rooted situation.
Unfortunately for me when my problems started in the 1950's self-hypnosis was not available. As a consequence of this my phobias were very deep rooted by the time I found out about and tried self-hypnosis.
In those days I was very weak willed and just avoided anything that set my phobias off. For me that was the easy way out. To this day I am not completely free from my phobias. This is also due to the fact that the phobias go get worse as you get older.
The majority, if not all phobias, can be controlled with self-hypnosis as long as they are not too deep rooted. Clinical hypnotists can be overly expensive in their treatment of phobias, again more so if they are deep rooted.Of course self-hypnosis can be used to treat many things and not just phobias. Slimming and smoking are two of the many things that can be helped by the use of self-hypnosis. I also use it here in WA to help with my mind-set.
Sometimes there is something troubling you which cannot be cleared for some reason. This is where self-hypnosis can come in useful.
Self-hypnosis does not put you under a spell of any kind. It is just a way of getting very deeply relaxed. In some cases you may become so relaxed that you fall to a natural sleep. In this situation your mind is more open to the suggestions that you put into it.
Sounds easy doesn't it. It can be once you become accustomed to using it.
I wasn't a believer when I was first introduced to self-hypnosis but I soon realised that it worked on me. If you haven't tried it then you don't know if itcan help you or not!

You can do it. You Say I want it -I'll Have it. Writing on stick notes your Idea and wishes when you see them say them out loud.
It's a yes from me Derek. I use self-hypnosis and have made it my my WA niche, promoting a wide variety of self-hypnosis audios through my website. As you say Derek it is not a "spell" or something that takes you away from self-control. It is a simple method to get relaxed and then suggest to your subconscious mind a "treatment" for the targeted area you want to improve upon. Not magic, not quick fix... it's a proven process that over time will net the desired results.
A useful tool. For years, I have used automatic writing as a tool to help me through crises. It's really a form of self-hypnosis, and I've been glad to be able to use it.
Derek. Since you know More about this subject than I, could you recommend some reading or YouTube video to help me to learn more about this intriguing subject?
Thanks Derek!
I agree ... If you haven't tried it then you don't know if it can help you or not!
Which is true for everything ...
