3 Creativity Suggestions To Stave Off Cabin Fever

Now that spring time is near (almost) and the weather is getting warmer, we Wealthy Affiliate members are sure to be bursting with ideas for blogs and content. However, having to watch the snow outside melt and disappear from our kitchen windows can become mundane, and quickly. Here are three simple ways to boost your creativity levels while ushering in warmer temperatures:

1. Go outside

Getting out of the house for reasons other than grabbing groceries is crucial when it comes to creativity. So, just bundle up and go outdoors. Take a step out to the backyard or even the front porch. It’s still relatively cold in most places, so you don’t have to go far. But the effect of fresh air and a little sunshine alone can get the creative juices going. And, let’s face it; there are just so many more inspiring things to see outside!

2. Take a walk

Going for a walk is easy, free and great for your health. If the snow is melted and the ice is gone then put on that coat and head for the sidewalks. Take a stroll on over to the local park, or just have a meander down the block. Be sure to remember to take your pen and a piece of scrap paper… You’re certain to take in all types of sights that start the idea river flowing!

3. Coffee Shop Trip

One of my all-time favorite places to crank out some content is the local coffee shop. It’s just the perfect fly on the wall scenario for me. I never really speak to anyone or schedule meetings, I just show up. Strangely, I usually order a cup of tea and start my blogging. It really works! I listen to various conversations around me when I’m looking for a word and allow the low hum of the coffee shop sounds to entrance me in my writing. Odd enough right? Don’t knock it until you try it!

Without access to a time machine this is about the best I can do for helping with passing the last bit of winter away. Soon enough we’ll be complaining about the heat! But for now we can enjoy the remaining chill while we welcome in the spring season (almost).

All happy thoughts and happy things to you!

I like the coffee shop idea. I can smell the coffee already!!!

Hi Debbi! It's one of those silly little things that works for me... I hope it warms up soon where you are!

Thanks - so do I. :-)

I couldn't agree more Felix. I miss the outdoor lifestyle I grew up in. I feel instantly better and happier when I get outside!

Hello Jessica, I know the feeling, we've been living in Georgia for four years too long. We go outside enough, but it's nothing like being back at the beaches of Miami. We're moving back this year... Finally! Thank you for stopping in!

Yes, for me it was the bush in Alaska...in the mountains and river valleys of the largest National Park in the country, Wrangell St Elias. Truly amazing place, gold and copper in the streams, home on a lake with trumpeter swans nesting on our property (hence my username here). Huge gardens, a dog team...so many wonderful memories.

Writing about it yet? The same way you just did. E-book... blogs...

No...I always wanted to write a book since I feel like I am one of a dying breed to actually grow up that way! There was no school (no other kids nearby) so I did home school. Later I went to a "real" high school when we moved to "town". Then I went to college. I have an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree and I am one course away from my Master's. Some people assume if you live in a remote area you won't do well in society later on. My husband and I are living proof that is not the case. He also graduated with honors and a double major after he got out of the Marine Corps. He grew up much the same as I did. His parent's owned a remote lodge with a dog team like our's and both our family's had airplanes as there were no roads. We both grew up with foreign visitors so we were exposed to many different cultures and developed interests in travel, history and culture.

It was an amazing life with no TV, no telephones, no internet! Because we were away from interference however, my Dad rigged up huge antennas and we got radio stations from all over the world. He also built a whole alternative energy system so we had power. We never had much money but I didn't know the difference as a kid!

Hi!!! Inspiring!!!

Great to try and post a little inspiration here at WA! Thank you for reading and commenting...

Welcome. The more I become engaged in WA, the more I learn.

Agreed!

I'm with you on the coffee shops. It's something about the combination of the atmosphere and the caffeine, I suppose. :)

Hi Peter! I know it's such a weird thing! But whatever works right? Thanks for stopping in to read and comment.

Living in NYC I get to do this every day. Outside, walking and coffee. Three of my favorite things. Thanks for this Felix!

Thanks for stopping by Big Mook! Have a safe Friday evening... If you're working tonight don't make fun of the big guy's girlfriend!!!

Ha! Thanks. Have a good one!
