Lessons From Extreme Couponers

If you have ever watched Extreme Couponers on T.V. you might be thinking, man these people are crazy!

Who in there right mind would want to spend a crazy amount of time to save all that money on things they don't even need or use. Well, not all of it.

For most of them, it is a full time job working anywhere from 25-50 hours a week. So, obviously most of the people you see doing this are stay at home moms and a few dads.

The thing that amazes me the most is that they have a detailed plan going into it and they pretty much know how much they're going to spend by the time it's all said and done.

That got me to thinking, what if we took the analogy of couponing and applied it to our online business. Stick with me here. It's just an analogy, but it might help someone with the way they think about setting goals.

Say our goal is to work full-time online within five years.

Now, using the analogy of couponing, you might have a dollar off coupon. Another might be buy one get one free. And another might be double coupon days at the store.

Using Wealthy Affiliate as an example, we'll equate writing a blog within WA as the dollar off coupon.

Writing an article for Street Articles as a buy one get one free coupon.

And writing a page or post on your website as double your coupon.

O.K. now the goal is to go full-time online within five years, so what we're gonna do is equate all the work we do here at WA with how many days sooner that we can reach our goal. Hope that makes sense.

For every blog we write, let's say it helps us reach our goal 3 days sooner.

For every article we write, it helps us reach our goal 5 days sooner.

And for every page or post we put on our website, that's double coupon days, it helps us reach our goals 10 days sooner.

So don't get discouraged if you don't see the results right away, just keep adding content in all these areas. Google is gonna start ranking us as we become an authority in our niche.

And before you know it, you'll see your invites and credits begin to be a daily event.

So, from now on that's how I'm gonna look at writing content, because that's usually one thing I dread and procrastinate on.

Every time I write something is another 3,5 or 10 days closer to reaching my goal.

Thank you, Extreme Couponers!

I have to laugh at your post, once being an extreme couponer and all. I thinking blogging is way simpler than couponing. but you def have the right mindset. by the way, it's more than getting things you don't need. When you do it right you'll get overage on many of the deals so you can buy all the other things you need. My husband got his braun razor that way. Also money back, free gas and you can always seel or donate that stockpile, which of course is what we have to do coz theres a point where you just don't have space for it all anymore. Oh I still have toothpaste form when I couponed in 2004, even though I gave away at least 40 days

Great thinking! Thanks for sharing! :)

Hey, fedex guy - do whatever it takes to keep you moving forward. Earn those coupons!

This is a unique take on creating success and I would say if it motivates you to create, absolutely do it. Because naturally every action you do take will lead you closer and closer to earning revenue online so this strategy is actually quite sound.

I would say that you go for it!

You sound like me anything to help you get your mind into the writing thing. Writing is my nemesis. So thank you I will try this...next. ;o)

God bless
Kymee
