How to Leave a Legacy Even If You Are Broke, Jailed or Facing Death In The Face
NOTE: Long letter but worth a read if leaving a legacy is part of your life's plan.
==========
If you have been following me, you will realize that I have been writing a lot lately.
I didn't realize that myself until my fiancé mentioned that I have a fan who would read everything I published.
That friend mentioned that I should be a writer. But what she doesn't know is, I was....just that my passion for writing died two years ago.
That is until I began reviewing my life.
I looked back on what I had done over the last 10 years of my adult life and found that writing is still the most enjoyable part of my life's work.
It allows me to share my most wicked thoughts, communicate my fascinating ideas and subtly persuade others with the written word.
But this article isn't about how great writing is. It's about why you should write.
And that inspiration came from the late Gary Halbert.
The Boron Letters
If this is the first time you heard Gary's name, know this. He is the best copywriter the world have ever seen. His sales letters (phyical mailers) were mailed 3 BILLION times.
If you have ever read his materials, you will be in awe of his insights and experience as a copywriting genius (which you will see later).
Anyway, there was a point of time where he was in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
And since his skill was in writing and prison is a place where you have time but no freedom, he decided to use his time writing letters to his son.
And the Boron Letters were born.
It's a collection of letters to his son about his life's lessons, inspirational thoughts and business strategies.
Somehow, these letters got leaked and became popular within the copywriting universe.
Today, real copywriters and marketers (not wannabes) would have at least heard of the Boron Letters.
Holly Butcher's Story
You may not be familiar with this name but you may be familiar with her story.
She was a 27 year old cancer patient who died late last year.
But before she passed away, she wrote an emotional letter which was posted on her Facebook.
The letter described how much she love life and how suprised she was to learn that she was going to go at such a young age.
She ended her letter with an encoragement to live life to the fullest and be happy.
That one letter went viral and inspired others (probably you too).
Napoleon Hill's Story
Now, this is the name you should know.
The author of Think and Grow Rich, the most widely read non-friction book.
Before Napoleon wrote the book, he was broke. He failed in multiple business ventures and was in the brink of bankurptcy.
The turning point came when he got the chance to meet Andrew Carnegie (The real man of steel).
Andrew gave him a challenge. To interview successful men and consolidate a simple formula for success.
He took up that challenge and Think and Grow Rich became his masterpiece and legacy.
Leaving a Legacy
There are countless others who have left a legacy through the written word such as Anne Frank, whose diary gave us a glismpe of life under the Nazi rule.
These people are neither powerful nor rich yet they have left us with something much more valuable than wealth and power.
So, how about you?
Are you ready to leave something positive before you go?
If you think you have nothing valuable to leave behind, you are hugely mistaken.
Your knowledge, experience and passion for something is worth writing about.
Worry that you can't write or no one will ever read your stuff?
My challenge to you is this (like how Andrew Carnegie challenge Napoleon Hill), write one article a day for the next 30 days and you will see something amazing happen.
You will start to realize your writing skills improve and you will start to see lives being inspired through your writing.
30 days, 1 article a day (topic that you are passionate about) is all you need to inspire others and build your legacy.
To your success,
Rod
PS: If you have made it this far, I want to congratulate you because you have just unlocked the treasure of human psychology.
I will give you a copy of Gary Halbert's Gude to Core Secrets and Desires of Different Groups of People.
Only 26 pages, this short report is filled with gold as Gary describe the different segement of people (entrepreneurs, factory workers, farmers, accountants, elderly etc), it's deep dark secrets and how you can profit from it.
As you read this report, you will be shock (like I have) at how accurate Gary describe each group of people - Why? because you will fall in at least one of those group.
So how do you get your hands on this report?
Simply type - "Read till the end" at the comment box below and I will share the link with you in private.

Read till the end - You know what else a writing practice does for each of us? It helps to learn how to start seeing ourselves as the valuable, deserving, important, unique human being that we were all born to be.
Just think about all the thoughts you have and how a journal with those thoughts can help you gain all the strength you will ever need to face all of your fears.
Self-talk comes when you are able to see and observe yourself for the most wonderful creature that you can become. It actually becomes an obsession that you won't want to stop because it frees your mind of all the bad and troublesome things.

That's great sharing Roderick.
It's motivational. I believe what you have shared is an evidence that you can leave a legacy through your writing - it can be book, journal, diary etc because once you got them written it's there forever.
Thanks for sharing.
