About FaeKuhn
Joined December 2017
I am 47 years old with 3 boys who are 21, 18 and 7. Two of my boys are serving in the military. I am a US Navy veteran myself. I work full time as a Veteran Employment Representative for the state of PA and finding ways to support our military and veterans is my 2nd passion in life.

My #1 passion is my love for cross stitching. It started out as a hobby many, many years ago but through certain events blossomed into an obsession and addiction (but I can think of many worse things to be addicted to..lol)

I have a Facebook group where I am an admin of over 4000 stitchers internationally that share my same passion of this wonderful art (and yes, it really is an art). This group of people has become like another family to me. I do many events online as well as host retreats once a year in various places to bring us together for a weekend of fun and companionship.

It is this group that inspired my first website that I just started a little over a week ago. It is not an easy site to monetize so it will not be my big money maker, but it helps me to further promote things I do and things I make for others. This site is a stepping stone for me to learn on and then move onto building my WA site that hopefully will bring me the financial freedom I seek!

Hi Fae, nice to hear from you. I look forward to getting to know you my new WA friend. Sorry about the huge delay in responding but I am a bit slow at the moment. Trying to do too many things at once.

I may have left you a comment on your About your website. I am not sure as it disappeared. Maybe because I didn't subscribe!

If you have time I would love it if you visited one of my websites and left a comment on a post, any one will do. The site addresses are fantasy-sci-fi-vision.com & https://workingonthewildside.com.

Keep working hard, having fun and don’t forget to ask questions.

A very nice boss once told me, ‘Helen, when you ask a silly question everyone else breathes a collective sigh of relief because they don’t have to!’ And that is so true. No question is silly so ask away.

If I can’t help I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Now let us keep in touch.

Ciao

Hello Helen,

I keep telling myself that when I retire, I am going to learn to quilt (I would love to learn now but between a full time job, an 8 yr old, running my businesses AND cross stitching, there definitely are not enough hours in a day! lol

I have just embarked on another business adventure with a cross stitch designer. I guess you could call me the business agent..he designs them and I do the selling and promoting! lol We just released our first design about 2 weeks ago and cross stitchers are LOVING it! I attached a picture of it here. I have started stitching it and I am so obsessed with wanting to get it finished because it's so colorful and just a fun design!

This artist is so imaginative and creative and we make a great team so I am so totally excited for our future endeavors together!

And then I also have my site www.faescraftycreations.com (it's not up and running fully yet as I just started populated it a few days ago. It took my website designer a bit of time to get it just how I wanted and needed it, but please feel free to take a look and let me know what you think of it so far! ). This one is the one that really has me working hard! lol I make craft tote and project bags and other little things for cross stitchers. It is so customized that I had to pay someone to custom design the framework of the website and now I have the fun part of filling it with all my products and fabrics (I have about 80 different fabrics..lol)! Hours and hours of work, but I know it will all pay off and be worth it!

So yes, I'm working hard and having fun! Just need to get to where I am making enough to quit my full time job and I'll be good to go and happy for the rest of my days! lol Hopefully it's sooner rather than later! :)

Thank you for stopping by my Luv 4 Cross Stitch site and leaving me a comment :) I will be sure to visit your sites soon and will return the favor! Have a great evening!

Fae, I find myself so busy that I seem to be getting nowhere! I took a quick peak at your new site and love the fabrics.

Now I will tell you my favourite frog tale.

We moved into an old farm house in the northern rivers area of New South Wales.

Not long after moving in I was giving the toilet a spring clean. I hit a blockage. Grabbing my handy hand mirror I took a look under the rim. And there was a little green frog.

Over the years Froggie grew (and grew). At night he would forage through the laundry, hunting tasty morsels. When I went to the loo at night it was a race to see who got there first. Me because I had to. Froggie because it was home. When I won I spent the whole time peeling frog off my leg after it launched itself at the bowl, trying to get home.

When we moved to Tasmania froggie not only was under the rim but a great deal of him (?) was a large green blob extending outwards!

Hi Fae, love the picture with your son! Thank you, both for your service. My grandson just left last week for the Navy boot camp in Chicago. We are from New Orleans and use to mild temperatures but I'm he will be fine.
Joined WA about a month ago s still in the early stages.
Best of luck with your journey here.

Hello! Thank you for the compliment and please tell your grandson thank you for his service! My oldest son went to boot camp in Chicago and then stayed there for a couple more months for schooling and they had a big snow storm and he got shovel duty...not fun..lol. Hopefully it doesn't snow there while your grandson is there. I am sure he will do great!

Some day I hope to visit New Orleans....its on my bucket list :) I am still fairly new here at WA myself but I have learned so much and will continue to keep learning. I work fulltime so its a challenge to find time for everything...but my take on it is that I have to work 10 more years for the state of PA to retire and get full medical benefits for life for me and my husband...so that is 10 years I have to build my business to keep a decent income flowing in when I do retire :)

Best of wishes to your success!

Hi, Fae! I had to come and have a look at your bio after that nice comment on mine! Thank YOU for your continued service to our service men and women!

Most certainly it is a family that keeps on giving, and I do my part as possible from afar. I spend most of my time in Dubai these days but do work from other locations too...

You are a member of a high power site here that will help you monetize all the skills and experience you obviously have. There is a learning curve, as Robert mentions below, but nothing that can't be handled.

I am just in the process of setting up mentoring groups by subject matter and niches so you may want to have a look at that (my last 2 blog posts)...

It is very nice to meet you and I wish you the best with your online adventures! I look forward to reading about your successes here!

Cheers!

Dave,

Thank you! I just took a look at your mentoring blogs and I am all for it and welcome the help! I think I can do great things and a lot of people I know within my niche on Facebook are excited about my new site and I want to keep that excitement going and make it something that works for them and me!

I look forward to seeing how this mentoring idea progresses and as I progress in my knowledge and success, I definitely want to help others do the same!

No probs.
Just choose the ones you believe will help you now and the rest can wait until as and when you have the time.
I don't really expect anyone to read them all.
When you type a question into your Question Box at the top of your page you could very well see one or two of my blogs in the list.
Enjoy your Tuesday.

David,

I think you are absolutely right in that I have found the one place that can help me succeed. I have never seen anything as real as this for being able to have an online business ..to have people that can help me do it when I need the help. It's pretty awesome.

There is so much I want to learn as fast as I can, but you are right in that I need to make sure I take my time and not get too overwhelmed...which at the moment I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I want to get more content posted, but I work full time as well as having a 7 year old at home so my time is limited. But hopefully I can find a balance that works. I look forward to being successful in this however long it takes!

Hi Fae!
Thanks for your response. I totally understand your situation. You have to find a balance that will work for you.

A possibility is that you can outsource content writers for a small fee. Sites like https://www.fiverr.com/ offer such services.

Thank you Fae for the follow and many blessings to you here at WA. As a Premium Member you are now in the process of creating content for your affiliate marketing website.

It is important to fully understand how you should go about creating that content that will produce high Google rankings. Using low competition keywords is only a small part of the process.

Google has a set of guidelines for people creating content on their affiliate marketing websites. They do not like affiliate sites that are heavy on the selling and light on the help.

Though this may not occur to you in the beginning of your affiliate marketing journey, offering help instead of selling to your website visitors will yield more sales.

When you have some time, read the brief training at the link below which will explain Google's guidelines in a more simplistic way. When you help instead of sell, you will see better results.
