Value is not all about money
Value does not relate to price, it is the perceived benefits that a product or service will bring to the consumer which in turn will form the basis of the buying/engagement decision. One of the tenants of business is the concept of mutual benefit. We engage in trade, goods are exchanged thereby benefiting each party. Cost is only part of the equation.
Content creation falls into this process, the perceived benefit of your latest content can be measured by your reader's engagement. The value lies in the benefits that the reader/viewer will get from your content. So we as creators and publishers need to build that engagement and add value.
The challenge of content publishing resides in forming that relationship between the perceived value of the content and the solutions that it presents to the reader. The other aspect is the time it takes to gain the benefit. Today we need to get straight to the point, as they say, cut to the chase. Easier said than done for sure.
The thing is we can have this realization and work at it or we can "clunk" at it. I heard this classic one-liner this morning.
"You think you are doing great getting up at 4.30 am every morning I get up at 4.25 every day and give it all that I have."
Classic, it brings a level of intensity to the game I don't know if I am quite there yet, a work in progress.
What is the point you make;
One of the keys, is understanding that everything that we do regarding creating that value for our readers we do with the understanding that they have a choice and looking at the abundance of material online their choice is not limited to just you.
"Qualitas super quantitas illa regat"
Quality over quantity rules the day.
We should always be on the lookout for new opportunities to create value. We may be thinking we are doing great. If we rest up we can be assured our competition will not, read above lol.
It is almost like we have to think in terms of building a total package to deliver that value. Communicating across many platforms, right place right time rings so true. Getting that content out there is crucial to creating that online presence.
It is also about understanding our audience....... are we delivering that value to them or are we just delivering what we presume that they need or want. That is a challenging proposition, stand back and take a deep breath, because I don't think anyone "twigs" that one overnight.
The golden rule if there ever was one is to listen to your audience, learn their nuances and perceptions about your musings.
"They control the click"
If we are not gaining traction then we need to change or tweak what we are doing........... practice, practice should become our theme song.
In this case the consumer of your content is always, always always.........right. Do I have the code not really but if I was only aloud to impart one thing I would say go big, it may take a little bit of time but then the show is pretty short any how, we should make it count.
Have a productive week go hard out.
