How do keywords work to increase my website's Google rank? Without good keywords, I understand that my Google rank will not rise or at least not quickly. If I repeat keywords o

Great topic and discussion

The real essence of google is it does sell a google Search appliance, and that product has the ability to match meta tags, which could include the keywords meta tag. But that's an enterprise search appliance that is completely separate from our main web search.

Our web search (the well-known search at google com that hundreds of millions of people use each day) disregards keyword metatags completely. They simply don't have any effect in our search ranking at present.

Thanks, Samuel.

If you're publishing a post with the keyword "make money online" for example, it's good practice to start your title with the keyword, to have it in the post's permalink, to have it in the first paragraph in that post, and then to type out your post in a normal, conversational way.

If you have the keyword repeated over 3% google starts to see this as keyword stuffing. 2% is a good rule of thumb, but don't start just stuffing it in there to reach 2%. Sometimes you just can't without making the text read weird.

So as long as you've placed it in the spots I mentioned above, that's good practice for on page SEO.

And the percentage goes for the individual post. If you have that same keyword sprinkled throughout another post it won't penalize against a seperate post.

Thanks, Eric.
