It's time for your daily dose of Wordpress Wisdom! In today's quick tutorial I'll be showing you how to add Google Adsense code to your website. If you're wanting to run ads on your site the very first step Google Adsense asks of you is to verify site ownership by adding a specific snippet of code to your website.

This is done very easily using an extremely user-friendly plugin that takes all the guesswork out of it and places the code exactly where it needs to be! Let me show you how it's done!

As always, feel free to share this video with anyone needing help with this. If you have any Wordpress related questions that you'd like to see me create a tutorial around feel free to send me a private message or leave me a message on my profile.

If you want to check out all my Wordpress Wisdom tutorials you can go to the WA smart search up top or just head over to my blog.

Be productive!
Get to work!
I'll see you next time!

Hi Eric,

I followed your instructions to the letter on 2 of my Sites and get this error every time.

Couldn't verify your site
We couldn't verify your site. Make sure the changes you made to your site are published and accessible by the Google AdSense crawler. If you’re still having issues try another method.

I started over, removed to Header link on both site and get to the verify again - same thing??

Please help as I want to monetize both sites...One is still in development - would that matter??

Thanks,

Ron

Sometimes you just have to wait a bit just like I mention in the video.

You don’t want to remove the header tags because that’s the whole point of what you’re doing.

Follow the steps as shown, save your changes and confirm placement using the view source method I show. If you click to verify and it says it’s not verified just go about your business and go back to it later. 👍🏼 It just takes some time.

OK, thanks Eric! Will do!

Ron

Hello Eric

Thank you for this great video. It's always great to go back to the basic and I really like the look of the WP code plugin.

It will save me from having things the hard way next time I need to add Google AdSense code to one of my websites. I have been really enjoying you daily WordPress wisdom videos and I'm glad you are still doing them.

I have been watching them as you posted them each day and thought I would take the time to leave a comment this time. I do need a hand with something so I'll send you a PM when I have time if that's ok with you.

I look forward to next WordPress wisdom video. Thank you again for this great video. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

Hi Eric, Thank you! I am having trouble getting to the Google AdSense screen - I must have missed that tutorial on how to setup the Google AdSense account? Except for that, an excellent tutorial...:)

Just go to their website, sign up, and click on add your site. Nothing to it 😎👍🏼

OK, I tried that but there was only option to add the one website as my login - I want to add 2 so I would login into the first one to add the second??? Or create a whole new Google AdSense login for each one I want to Add? Sorry, there must be a tutorial on that process. right? Simplicity never seems to work for me....! When you sign up which e-mail do you use??? The site says: AdSense policies only allow one account per publisher. I hate to give Google my password for my Website and login, can I use and an alternative Password? Their Servers have plenty of information about me already....Oh, as an IT Professional, I have around 10 e-mail accounts - all of them attached in some ways to different sites for informational uses for clients and their products - some are personal for sure.

So I guess I will create a new User and Logon even though it wants a Google Account...I will research elsewhere I guess...you are obviously super busy...which is good...Thanks...

KISS principle, Ronald, lol

When you signup to Adsense use any email you like. It's just a login for Adsense. It has nothing to do with the sites you're going to be adding and you won't be giving any website login info.

No need to create any new users or anything like that.

During the Google Adsense signup process it asks you for your site's url. You can enter any site of yours you like, or even click on "I don't have a site yet", it doesn't matter. This is because once you've set up your account, it takes you to your main dash where you can click on the Sites tab on the left and there you can add site after site to your heart's content :)

Oh, yes, the KISS Principle, of course! Chucks, OK Doke, I will tackle that tomorrow...:) Just had a big issue with a new G-mail I created and cannot get Google Security to allow the Generate a New App password option that will let it work in Outlook 365. According to Google, Outlook is an unsecure Application! So this process is needed. Every time I try to follow the steps, which includes turning on 2 - step verification, that darn option is hard to find... I digress! Thanks so much, I will be in touch as I need to learn so much ASAP to get This Money Generator going Bigtime. The Real World is Hurting and my Brick and Mortar Biz is getting Shaky...Have a real nice evening or morning, sorry did not check on your location... Ciao
