Failing forward to success
I have been feeling a little bit discouraged about all the mistakes I have made since I began this journey. However, I have realized that it's not the making of mistakes that's my problem - it's how I react to them and what I have learned in the process that's important.
Here are some quotes I found to help me think about failure in the right way.
"Mistakes are the portals of discovery" - James Joyce
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." Henry Ford
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Thomas Edison
"Failures, repeated failures, are fingerposts on the road to achievement. One fails forward toward success." C.S. Lewis
I can choose to focus on my failures or I can choose to learn from them and move another step forward towards success.

I think we all get discouraged from time to time. And you are right....it is how we react to our failures that will 'make or break' us. We have to take a deep breath and continue onward, knowing full well that we are guaranteed to make even more mistakes along the way. This just makes us stronger and stronger each and every day :-)
You are quite right, Diane, it does make us stronger if we approach failure in the right way.
Good thoughts Erica, we should never be afraid of failure, it is just a learning opportunity :)
Never give up! Hang in there because regret is far more destructive in the long run. Playing the"What if...." game never produces success so turn any regret downside up and eventually u will GREET success with a smile! I love your new perspective and we all need a new perception! Thank you ;)
I agree with you - I would hate to look back with regret that I didn't pursue this until I achieve success.

Another way to look at it is you are a beginner and until you've done this for a few years (4 years full-time for a degree?) you're not allowed to comment on yourself...you haven't finished your 'techy' education yet!
It is too easy to give ourselves a hard time! If we are realistic and we were training to be a doctor how long do we give ourselves to be a professional? When would people trust you with their health? We may not be doctors but we still need to build our skills to that level of professionalism, plus how much time we are able to give to this to learn?
Great attitude and I believe that you gain great knowledge from mistakes, so embrace the lesson and move on to better things!
