I haven't been posting much lately because I have been working hard on my websites. However, I recently read an article that prompted me to quickly write this post. According to a recent SEMrush study the most severe issue they detected when conducting SEO site audits was duplicate content. Anonymous data was collected from 100,000 websites and 450 million pages. It was found that 50% of the websites audited faced duplicate content issues! I can't believe that this figure is so high. It is actu

I have been feeling a little bit discouraged about all the mistakes I have made since I began this journey. However, I have realized that it's not the making of mistakes that's my problem - it's how I react to them and what I have learned in the process that's important. Here are some quotes I found to help me think about failure in the right way. "Mistakes are the portals of discovery" - James Joyce"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." Henry Ford"I

When I was listening to Jay's recent Q and A session, I was really struck by one thing he said. I don't know why this has not registered before but he was talking about 'buying intent'. He said this is why product reviews, how to ... and best of ... posts work so well. People who are already thinking of buying a certain product type it into Google and if you have used low-hanging keywords, they will come across your review and, hopefully, you will convince them to buy. I was thinking about the fact that we are living at a point in history where certain barriers have been broken. The breaking of these barriers has provided us with the opportunity to start and run online businesses - something our ancestors wouldn't even have been able to imagine. For a start, technology has eliminated so many hurdles. One of the aspects of Wealthy Affiliate I found overwhelming when I first joined was the volume of information. I had shiny object syndrome really badly. Moving out of our comfort zones is not always easy, especially for introverts, but it is essential to growth. There is an inherent power that comes with interacting with people who share your goals and your interests. Here at WA we are given that opportunity to interact with others who have the same goal of wanting to build an online business. We are able to add to our own knowledge and then share it with others. In that sharing, we clarify our own understanding and often come away with seeds

Just came across this from Brian Clark of Copyblogger and thought I would share. Sometimes we think there is some secret formula to becoming a better writer that is only available to a select few. So, go ahead and write, write, write and write some more!

Yesterday turned into a real blue Monday for me. Firstly, I managed to grab the wrong set of keys as I was rushing out of the door. I was stuck in my garden and couldn't even get out of my gate. I have a high wall with spikes around my property. I phoned a friend who brought a ladder along and helped me to climb over the wall. I climbed up the ladder and perched on a cushion he put over the spikes. I then handed the ladder over the wall and he set it up on the other side so I could climb down.
