How to treat Wealthy Affiliate as a real business!
If you are on WA, you already have something in your hands to build on.
If you haven't gone premium, you really should jump down the fence on the positive side as soon as possible.
For everyone that has gone premium, I do not think that move was for fun. There is some success motivation behind buying the premium package.
But treating your premium package as a real business is a different side of the coin.
What does it mean to treat it as a real business?
A business is any income generating activity. That means you should be active on this platform with the aim of athically generating income.
Ethically because this platform has rules that must be respected by its members, and teaches everyone to prioritize top value and their readers in their communities.
Here are basic ideas to treat your WA subscription as a real business:
- Upgrade to premium. WA allows you to start a prosperous business with just $19 as startup capital.
- Set aside time: Give a considerable amount of time to WA. Focus more on the training and education. That's the only way to arm yourself against being broke.
- Pursue success: Beside learning scrupulously, get involved in activities that are sure to boost your knowledge. Ask questions here. Welcome others and network with them. Provide help where you are able.
- Practice what you read: As you read and acquire knowledge, put it to practice. Create your own website. Create content on it. Comment on other sites. etc.
Where is your business in the next few months?
Some folks are just hanging around here like a piece of material being blown by the soft wind. They don't have golds. They take things as they come their ways.
But here are 3 steps I propose to create a successful long term business:
1 - Set achievable goals:
There is a difference between setting high golds and setting unachievable goals. If your goals are unrealistic, you would have shattered your business from its inception.
Your goals should be high and reachable.
Think about someone just starting and aiming at $100,000 a month in the next 2 months. That's being unrealistic in this industry.
If you don't want to dabble and throw your feed in the dark, set goals.
Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. Tony Robbins
Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life. Les Brown
No doubt one of the settings options here at WA is gold setting. Have you set yours?
2 - Map out strategies to hitting your goals
It's one thing to set your golds. It's anothing to reach those golds. You can't set your goals and pack out for holidays the following day. You must design a working method that will enable you reach your goals.
What do you need to earn $500/m in the next 2 months? Are you promoting an affiliate product? How much does it pay per sale? How many sales do you need to hit that landmark?
You will discover that drawing a strategy to get to your focus requires you setting mining goals in between. These are just bridges connecting minor success that build up to the major success.
For instance, if you need 4 main sales this month to hit a certain gold of $200 by the end of the month, your mini gold should be to generate at least 1 sale a week.
The next question is: What are the things you need to do to realise your goals?
You must be able to outline them clearly
3 - Work hard towards the goal
You've set your goals. You've mapped out a strategy to reach your gold. Now, stick to the strategy. The keyword is discipline
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Jim Rohn
Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving towards your goals. LL Cool J
Don't get distraction. One of the things that kill productivity is distraction. For most of us working from home, we get so soon draw into entertainment or family matters and run out of time.
Keep away TV, social media, mobile phone, family distractions, etc.

Enstinemuki, that is a great post and very sound advice. I am a premium member too but I also have a job and a disabled husband to care for as well as all the stuff a homeowner deals with. I've tried to set goals with my WA business but rarely do things work out in my life where I can stick to them. So I decided to get the whole yearly package at WA. Not only did it save me money but now I can work diligently at my own pace. I just have to take things as they come.
Yes, WA is a real business! I love my niche and my website and although I get frustrated at times, I love all the new things I'm learning. I also love connecting with WA members, like you!
Also, I should tell you; The English word you're writing as 'golds' is actually GOALS, meaning Objective. Thanks for the great post, best of luck, and I'm following you!
Ah yes thanks for that correction. I just noticed as I was reading through a few moments ago.
Sometimes live becomes so challenging. We just have to remain focused and be positive.
I pray and hope it goes well with you and family
Setting realistic goals will motivate you to reach them.
I have set goals which are achievable if I put in the effort and work hard, which I'm prepared to do.
Thanks for this reminder!

Thanks for you post!
Love the post Enstine!
You are spot on that each of us need to have SMART goals.
S - Specific in what you want to achieve
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timely
Above all, treat it as a serious business. This is no longer hobby.
