Start a Facebook Group
It's been awhile since I have posted for the Knowledge Bitz Series. I have been busy working on my websites. But anyway here is the sixth bite in the series entitled Facebook Groups.
Facebook GroupsIf you haven't yet taken advantage of Facebook Groups I would encourage you to do so. You can start your own Facebook group on any topic that you want. For business purposes you will want to start a group in whatever niche your business is involved with.
Facebook is now putting a lot of emphasis on groups more than on business pages. I made my first Facebook group tonight for my fishing niche website. Immediately I started getting people signing up for the group.
Groups are a more informal way for you to engage with your audience. Depending on how you set the groups up you can let others post so that it feels more like a community. Then you can engage with these folks and when they start to trust you they will more than likely be open to checking out your website and hopefully getting sales from there.
Now seems like the time Facebook is encouraging groups more than ever so starting one soon would be a good idea. I do have a business page as well but business pages are more formal and I never really got a lot of engagement with business pages on Facebook. But already I have had some engagement with people who have joined my Facebook group.
Give it a Try
You have nothing to lose just set a group up it costs nothing and you can set your own rules and make it an open or closed group. I would suggest having it open at first until you start getting people to join and than later you can decide if you want to make it a closed group.
Groups are a great way to get know your audience and engage with them on an informal platform.
