Mid-week Motivation

So it's Wednesday, the middle of my working week (for now, while I'm still doing the 9-5).

I've been struggling a bit with my motivation this week so thought I might share some ideas that have helped me.

We're all going to have periods where we feel a bit "over" things, but as we all know, good things take time and it's important to just keep going.

Listen to Kyle!

When you reach a stage in a training and he tells you take a 10 day break from the lessons (while working on your site of course), do it. I have been going straight to the next training, and now I am wondering if some of my loss of motivation has been due to burnout.

I'm really excited about the opportunities here at Wealthy Affiliate and the site I am building, so learning to take a wee step back from things is difficult for me, but I am learning that it is important.

Contribute to the community

I always find one of the best ways to feel good about what you're doing is to help others with what they are doing.

I am a newbie here at WA, and feel like I don't really know how to answer anyone's questions yet. So I am trying to make positive contributions to the community by:

  • welcoming newcomers
  • commenting on others sites
  • reading others blog posts and commenting (there are some great motivational posts out there)

If you're stuck on something, ask

We all know the community here at WA is very strong, and very helpful. However, I am quite a shy person by nature, and am not very good at asking for help.

So bad, in fact, that I often don't even know I need help with something until I realize that whatever it is, is niggling at me, and holding me up. I asked a question yesterday, got a very quick and helpful response, and instantly felt a lot better.

So don't be shy! Everyone is here to help.

Read, read, read

I'm glad I've now learnt how to use google alerts. Because if I'm really feeling like I don't want to think about writing another post, I can turn to my google alerts for new learning and inspiration. I find them very helpful.

So that's four ways things I've learnt from inside Wealthy Affiliate are keeping me motivated, I hope you find them helpful too.

Hi, I am newbie, I understand where your coming from, on the asking, that is something, I never do, ask for help, I am learning to, I am the one, outside of here, who helps others,no matter what there situation is,I have done some crazy things, by means of helping.supported them, when they have needed it, given my situation at present, it isnt good, I have asked for the help that I need. They have done a runner, turned their back on me, I laugh, and think, well I finally found something WA which will help me, guide me, to better life, keeping the motivation going. Its hard, when you are dealing with a multiple of other issues, one must keep going, wish you well. enjoyed reading your blog.

Thank you for your comment. You're definitely in the right place here at WA. My confidence with asking questions is growing, and you'll always get a very positive response from the community.
Everyone will help you with the motivation to just keep going, too. You're welcome to message me if you ever need a hand with anything.

balance is so important, especially for an obsessive compulsive like myself. hahaha Nice post Em

haha yes! I have those tendencies myself. Let's channel them into our businesses :)

Thanks for the wise words!

you are welcome, thank you for reading them :)

I agree on all points, especially the break. I've been there before when you jump from one video to the next and it seems to sap the motivation out of you. My problem is I've taken the break and never come back! Not this time though, and glad to hear for you as well. Staying on the path is key and the community involvement helps so much!

thanks for reading my post! that is a really good point about making sure you come back from the break! glad to hear you're going well :)
