Someone please comment and tell me, does WA back up your wordpress site for you automatically?

Or should I install the BackupBuddy plug in and back it up myself?

I need to know because I'm about to use Google Adsense and I'm watching a YouTube tutorial on how to do so and it said backing up your site before downloading any specific plug in for Adsense is important.

ALSO, do you have to pay for Google Adsense? Is it really that easy just to get paid for people clicking these ads on your site??

Thoughts?

Thanks guys :)

As far as plugins for backing up your site, there is one issue that occurs quite a lot.

Sure, they back up your site, but what if something brings your site down and you can't get into admin? If you can't get into admin to run a backup what good does it do you?

It really should be an outside source that is backing your site up.

If your site is down and you cannot get into admin, contact Wealthy Affiliate Site Support. They have backed up your site. You can do it too with a plugin called WP Clone or within the back office. Kyle has training. Good luck.

Great thanks

There is a fair bit of money to be made with Adsense if the content is good and traffic numbers are high.

On other sites not associated with WA I have made as much as $200 per month. Some people make much more. Even $100 per month will easily pay WA yearly membership costs.

I avoid using a rectangle or square banner inside the actual text. However, a link ad is not too distracting so I might put one in about halfway down the page.

What works best is to put skyscrapers or rectangle ads in the right sidebar. This does not interfere with the text.

Also, a large horizontal banner after the post is an excellent idea. It is also not in the text and gives visitors something to click on once they have finished reading the post.

I have decided not to use Adsense. I was advised that it would “cheapen” the look of my website. Would be interested to hear what others think of this.

If I'm not mistaken, I was rejected from Google Adsense last month but since then, I have paid more attention to it and take particular note about how others utilise it and how I personally feel about it.

I do agree about it can possibly "cheapen" the look of a site and it does feel that way to me especially when people place it within the content. It comes across as distracting and takes away from the focus of the article.

Thanks for your thoughts :)

Thank you for your thoughts!!

It made my site look less professional. Too many ads all over the place. Looked like a driver from Nascar.

Here is a link to Kyles training on this...

There's actually no video for this link.

Oh, so you want a video... no problem, Marion is one of our best for go to Video tutorials, aside from Jay and a few others...

No worries, we all get confused with something here and there.

Please remember, it don't hurt to ask in Live Chat. It may save you a few steps in the future.
Often times, the answer is in the original training but it is easy to skip a step or get eager. We have all done it.
All the best to you :)

Thank you :)

WA will back up your site. They are very reliable. Some also choose to back it up on a personal disc or whatnot.

WA has training about using Google AdSense. In fact, I rarely turn to Google or YouTube since I am a member of WA.

If you need help, type it in the black search bar here or ask in live chat, we are all here to help okay :)

I would've never asked this question if the video was incorporated in the first part of the training about Adsense, as it's not.

Super confusing.

But thanks!

I did some digging for you and you were asking if AdSense is as simple as clicking and getting paid... this post covers that... Alternatively, you can auto post with AdSense and you can control the ads to place on there yourself. Either way, the earning is quite simple but sometimes mere pennies.

Some people like AdSense and some people do not. It is an okay way to earn a little in my opinion. Keep in mind it may take away from your other call to action buttons or affiliate links.
