About Tanzanite
Joined April 2019
I'm 70 years old and currently reside in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Over the years, my long career in endurance sports has given me the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge about exercising and fitness best practices, optimum nutrition, and the power of believing in oneself. My athletic accomplishments include over 30 marathons, two fifty mile races, and over 100 10k races. I'm also a veteran of 11 Ironman Triathlons including Ironman Hawaii 1984. In the late 1980's I spent three years as a Skeleton/Bobsled athlete.

I self-published my first nonfiction book titled "Ironstruck...The Ironman Triathlon Journey" in 2006 and it continues to be well-received by the triathlon community around the world. It was followed by six more non-fiction titles. Ironstruck...500 Ironman Triathlon Questions and Answers, Triathlete in Transition, Lifestruck(for teens and pre-teens), When Running is Not Enough, a revised, updated edition of Ironstruck, and Seniors On The Move. Much like my very first book, the following six self-published books were all written to motivate and inspire others. My latest book is book number eight. It's Kona Calling was published April 18, 2018, and is my first work of fiction.

Great goals Ray,

The first step to achieving success online is to set some goals and now that you have done this you can start working towards them. Your goals are absolutely achievable and realistic. Dedicate yourself to working through the training, taking action, and getting help when you need it.

I am personally here to help you and there are many others within the community that will reach out to help too.

You are already doing great, keep it up!

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Very interesting profile. I thought your advice about a camera cleaning niche was brilliant.

Are you still able to run?

With your writing skills, you should enjoy affiliate marketing a lot. The things you learn could also help you get even more sales on your books.

Best wishes!

Thanks so much for your response. You are correct. I love writing and I don't expect it will be a problem as far as that's concerned. I have never done well at marketing and that is where the problem is. I was late coming into the computer age so it was a struggle for sure. I really struggle with things like Instagram, Pinterest and youtube video's and gave up on them, as I can't really figure out to make the most of them. I do use twitter.

To answer your question. Yes, I still am able to run and I also lift weights, as I believe every senior should. (resistance training, that is).

Yeah, I was brainstorming the camera cleaning niche for the woman who was interested in cameras. As I got into it, I thought I would do it myself if she's not interested. I think I sold myself on the idea. lol........However, cameras are not really my thing.

I believe you are right. It would do wonder for book sales if I knew how the heck to market.

I am confident that you are in correct place to learn how to market here.

The training takes you step by step.

Then there are the WA blogs that are posted by community members. For example, I was just reading Tiffany D's and was wowed by her insight.

I have been here for over two years. I learn every day. I simply need to improve my ability to focus....

Best wishes. I'll be around if you have any questions.

Hi Carson! Thank you for your message. So far it's been fun and a learning experience

I have a question for you. Does the website have to be turned on in order to become public? I assume it's not live during the early building stage.

At what point is it best to make a website live? And how do you make it live? I saw a button that said "private" somewhere that makes me think the website is not visible yet.

Hi Ray,

The moment that you build your website it's live on the web. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it being "live" while you build it. So, the answer to your question is that it's already live :)

Thanks Carson!

I believe part of the problem was that my website wasn't indexed to Google. Now it is. I wasn't able to see any stats. Hopefully, I will not as Google Analytics is activated as well.

Thanks again
