Hi Ellen! My niche is related to the work I've done for quite a while and it's something I enjoy. But like others have said, hitting the wall can be part of the process. It has been for me as well. I'm still working on my niche site but I am looking at how I might narrow it a bit. Right now, I'm doing some behind the scenes work with switching to a premium theme and using a sandbox (to try it out before going live). My main goal with the new theme is to have more flexibility to implement ideas that will better serve my audience. I also know that as I keep working on my niche and interacting with my audience, I will find that sweet spot that really solves their greatest problems.

Stay encouraged in the learning process! Success is coming. :)
Colleen

Thank you Colleen! I will look trough my whole page and see if I can do some changes. :)
Ellen

I have seen members here get results sooner when they promote products that are related to their niche and can be purchased on Amazon or other online stores with an affiliate program.

You have to start somewhere, and it takes at least 100 posts to get consistent results. Since you only joined in April, you may be doing better than you think. Have you used Google Search Console or Google Analytics to check the performance of your website?

Cheers.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,
I have one post that is number 3 on google so I guess this is very good. All the other are number 40 or much lower.

Good to know that you have seen results faster when not doing the Bootcamp. Then I just have to keep going and hopefully, the other post will climb up at google soon.

Thank you very much for this! :)
Ellen

I would honestly advise against going into the MMO niche, the Bootcamp is good but it's tough to crack especially with how Google is making harder to rank sites that concern peoples wealth and livelihood.

Stick to your niche ( if ts not related to health, that's another area Google is cracking down on), get to around 100 posts and see where you are.

All the best

Hi,
well, it is a kind of health. Or at least self-development.
It is about "Spirit, mind and body". This means a holistic way of taking care of your self. is this bad? Should I still keep going?
Ellen

But you must also consider that some of the most successful WA members doing bootcamp have become successful showing others how to make money with Wealthy Affiliate by showing their successful niche sites.

Like for example, Jay is so successful with his football snack helmet and been showing people how he's grateful with WA, making it easier for him to recruit people to WA.

To make it clearer, it is easier for you to recruit people to WA if you can show them that you succeed by applying the lessons taught in the Online Entrepreneur Course.

Hi!
Thank you!
This was very clear to understand. You are absolutely right. I will wait before I start Bootcamp or I never do it. But I think I will go through the lessons just to see what I can learn from it.
Ellen

The bootcamp training is helpful, and you can apply the lessons learned there to any other niche.

All I can say is that "feeling stuck" is part of the process. Everyone hits this wall eventually. You joined in April this year and you've already written 35 posts, which is incredible! I can imagine you are out of steam right now.

So here's what I suggest: Ask yourself if you would get your motivation back if you got 10'000 visitors to your blog TODAY. Would that make you excited to continue working on that blog again?

If the answer is yes, then you're focusing too much on the result right now. Results can come VERY delayed with the blogging / affiliate marketing business model - and yes, it can be very frustrating (which is why so many quit).

So if delayed results is the reason you feel stuck, then you're not actually stuck. You're just in the middle of transforming your blog.

However, if even 10'000 visitors cannot re-kindle the flame, then yes you might actually be in a niche that is not for you. In that case, it's not sustainable to push yourself through that.

What you can do is let the site sit for 6 more months, see if traffic increases, and then sell it. Meanwhile, you apply everything that you've learned to a different niche, one that you actually have a passion for.

Sorry for the lengthy comment but I hope it helps!

I like your explanation, James! Good advice. :)
Colleen

Hi!
Thank you, this was very helpful. I will ask myself this question because, to be honest, I´m not sure.
Thanks again!!
Ellen

That is quiet an effort put into the 35 posts. One way is to reflect on why you chose the niche in the first place.

1. Did you choose the niche because it was something you are good at?
2. Did you choose the niche because it was an interesting niche?
3. Is there a specific problem or unmet need in this niche?
4. Is there a product you can promote as a solution to this problem or unmet need?
5. How many others have the same problem or unmet need and would pay for this same product?

There is a need to do many adjustments to align between the market (niche) and the product we are promoting.

Hi, I picked it because it became a new interest for me. Now I feel like am not so sure of this anymore. Not that I´m not interested at all, just that it was interesting to a certain a point I´m not longing for deep-diving. Do you know what I mean?
And I can´t say I am very good at it. I learn and then write, and then learn and then write. It takes a lot of energy.

Thank you for your comment!!

Ellen

Yes, I know what you mean. It does take experimentation and time to test niches out. Sometimes the best plans don’t work out and accidents becomes success!

Thank you for helping me. I decided to just push through. Today is not fun but tomorrow will be :)
Wish you a great day!
Ellen

Try to identify the areas where you are stuck. You can start the bootcamp, I did it, but first try to understand the basics which are described in the online certification. It will be easy for you to understand the bootcamp.
You already have 35 post on your niche, so you have spent some time to create the content. Try to review the posts, review your niche and if need it, redo the online certification.
I hope this helps.

Best,
Maria

Thank you Maria!

Hi wonderful WA-family!

This week I recived a mail from Amazon. It said that if I don´t make any money in 120 days day will delete my account.

I know this

After 4 months I wouldn't be so caught up in PPC. Keep producing helpful content and take the necessary steps to rank your material.

Amazon will always take you back even if they terminate your account for nonsale.

Thank you, good to know! When did you make your first money? :)

I don’t really remember but it was in my first year towards my second

thank you for sharing :D

Hey Ellen,

Setup a FREE SiteRubix site and try working on comments there until you get it right.

Working with the Text Editor in WordPress is the same as editing comments, but if you are not comfortable with doing that then practice is needed.

Personally, I would NEVER go back over all of my old comments and start adding URLs (links) as I do not feel that is relevant information and COULD/MIGHT be construed by Google's script as a "black hat" techniques.

However, your website is yours to do with as you see fit. Just offering advice is all.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi, thank you for this help!
In one of the lessons, Kyle tells us to go back and change 5 comments...

Wonder then if he knows this is not so good.

Well, doesn´t matter now. Thank you!! :)

Change comments yes... but not add links to every one of them.
Most new to the training do not know how to edit a comment for when they make a typo... or grammar error for that matter. Thus Kyle's teaching this.

If you click on Edit instead of QuickEdit, you may find that edit screen easier to work in. I've used the QuitEdit option when fixing my typos.
