As long as your email address (hosted here at WA) is for the site hosted here at WA, then yes, it would definitely be a SiteSupport issue.

When I was on WordPress before WA I was able to follow other sites that were of interest and within my niche and vice versa. How can I do that outside of WA?
That functionality was solely with wordpress.com
but you collaborate here within WA and you can always find other blogs of other members by contacting them personally or by looking up their profiles (when being friends).
Yes RSS is also an option, if you know their url's, but it is more complicated.
