Five Thousand Dollars A Month - For Real! - Keyword Research II

Howdy Folks - apologies for the delay in getting back to you but this keyword research has been somewhat 'in depth' and, as of writing this, unfinished but I've decided to share with you what's happened so far and what has still to be done.

So, here's a link to the spreadsheet on my Google Drive:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y-ROJ2_9CsoRcCYmZPDo...

Now, a quick explanation of each sheet

Sheet 1 is basically using 8 keyword research tools to generate a long list of key words and phrases, I also added Google's Autofill for my seed keywords plus who, what, when, where, why and how.
Sheet 2 is a pure list of all the keywords from sheet 1 in alphabetical order - pure raw words
Sheet 3 is sheet 2's list but de-duplicated and the nonsense words and phrases removed.
Sheet 4 is where I am now separating out the long list of keywords into 'buckets' of similarities - these may end up as categories but I haven't taken that big a step yet.

To Be Done
Buckets to be fiinished, then each bucket tidied up and then I intend to use Jaaxy to discover the traffic for each key phrase in each bucket. Then it's off to Google to discover the competition on the 1st page for each of the keywords and also work out how much content I'll produce for each key word/phrase - there may even be a need for some video action and a bunch-load of reviews.

So, still a fair way to go

Great work showing your process. It is really helpful.

Alex

Thanks Alex

i like the idea but foir me at te start of a site you give answers t oquestions- narrow ones that can be answered in approx 1500 words
so using jaaxy with
what astronomy in alphabet soup wil lturn up a fair few questions
and gonig through the what , where, who , why, when, how, can, do, does prefixes may turn up some questions that can be answered
i also notice you don't have a sheet for the person you are targeting or the purpose of the site...
using site:quora.com astronomy
will give you aload of ideas from there
also redditt- same search...
and looking for forums
as it really does depend on the leve lof person you are targeting
you wouldn't, for instance, be talking to a complete novice about RA, until you had explained about the sky measuring systems...
of that the best way to find your way about hte sky for a beginners is with binoculars...or even just hte eyes....
so a sheet with the persona questions added and site scope would be a good addition...
added to that you can have possible names for the site - main words
astronomy , beginners, night sky, etc
jsut thoughts

Completely with you Phil, there are so many different ways of approaching the subject.
Yes, perhaps I should have built a customer avatar, however, it turns out that there are several avatars that I can write for within the niche.
I n fact, there are certainly 3 different niches under the 'astronomy' umbrella each with a distinct avatar

Very interesting Dom. Does the subject line of your post mean you are earning the $5000 already, or is that a stated intention?
I am impressed by your very thorough keyword research. I'm now thinking I need to do more on my topic.

Stated Intention Michael - if I was, I'd probably not be doing this - lol.
Keywords are the foundation of your whole online business - so I reckon they've got to be as well researched as possible

I certainly agree with that about the keywords - but I had erroneously assumed I had found them all for my niche.
But your methodical method and use of lists suggests I can probably find many more.
Thank you

We like this layout it really shows in depth about keywords and jackpot.

Cheers,

Thanks guys, much appreciated - more to come over time, a lot more!

You have been a very busy person. And it looks like your niche has a lot of potential.

I am curious what 8 keyword tools you used.

Your methodical approach should yield which keywords will have the most potential and then Jaaxy can also tell you how long your post must be to rank maybe above the first 5.

We wish you happy keywording.

Hi George - you can find my list of keyword tools in this post : The research has certainly produced a lot of words - noe it's a question of untangling them and finding which are the fruit that need to be plucked

Looked at your list in the blog.
One additional tool I use which has both keywords and questions is ahrefs.com slash keyword-generator.

Yes, I've seen ahrefs in use by other marketers and it looks fantastic - sadly, just out of the reach of the funds at the moment, but it is on the shopping list.

You can use it FREE if you only type in keywords. They have start free trial in the top corner but you do not have to do anything with that.

I do not pay for my usage of it. I just went o check and it is still free to use.

Type your keyword in the middle section. choose your country and search engine. after click find keyword; Then check I am not a robot. I like it because I can download the list. Then I can use those words in Jaaxy. I used it some days several times.
