Thank You For Following Me. Where Do I Start?

I have only been with WA for six days at the writing of this blog. I would guess that I am progressing along normally or the average. I was looking at the new people coming in last night and I chose to follow a few and send them some comments to continue to grow and to learn. One of the brand new people messaged me back to thank me for the follow and then he asked me a question. "Where do I start"?

I am brand new but the really neat thing about this community is that we all started at the beginning and even though we are just a step ahead of others, we can help them and they can help us to learn and to grow. I copied what I told him and I have added it to this blog. I thought about placing this in training but I found out that I do not have enough time in here as of yet. This is OK with me. Hopefully this blog will be read by others who are just starting and that it will help them. I consider this a success blog because I am helping others to succeed while growing myself. There sure isn't very many opportunities to accomplish this in a regular workplace anymore! Here is the conversation below.

Thank you very much. Where and how do i start?

This is how I started at WA. I went to the blue rank button at the top of your profile page and I clicked on it. It opens up to my ranking and statistics. You can scroll down on the list and choose to follow anyone. I would recommend that you follow several toward the top of the list because they are ranked highest of our group based on time here, success, and completed skills and activities.

Then go to several of their profiles and read some of their blogs. (click on their picture or name to access) Whatever catches your eye or you find interesting. You will start to be exposed and learn as you do this. Look at their network pictures and choose to follow some people from each of the profiles that you selected. You can just click follow or you could send them a message introducing yourself. You do want to follow the founders of WA. They are one and two on the list. They have a great deal of information on their profile to learn from.

The first few days at WA I did this with about 10-15 people each night. I then started having people follow me and leave me comments. I have tried to answer those comments, but I have most likely missed a few. Again, this exposes you to more learning and other's perspective of WA and this business.

The other very important thing is the green get started button here up to the top left of your profile page. Start at the beginning and follow each step and watch each video at your own pace. The first lesson or two is designed to give you an overview of WA and how to navigate around. Review any step or video that you want or need to in order for you to feel comfortable. I would also highly recommend you going premium because this opens up a lot more opportunity to grow and learn here as well as giving you greater support. Any of us are only a question away so do not be afraid to ask. I hope that this helps and do not hesitate to contact me or anyone else here. Dave..

You are welcome Jezza. Drop me a line and let me know how you are doing. Dave.

HI Dave, you recommend me to read this blog of yours. I want to thank you. I know what to do now,as a starter. So thanks

Hi Vyne, thanks for the kind words. Just follow the training and ask questions along the way. I see you have 42 people that you are following. This is great. Interact and see what others are doing. This will help you to understand what this is all about. Let me know if there is anything that I can do. Dave.

Great post. Thanks for all of the information!

Thanks Carol, If you need anything, let me know. Best of luck to you. Dave.

Hi again, Dave,

What a great way to contribute to the community and personally to others. Great suggestions here and ones that if folks would 'follow' them could boost their morale while learning this business AND open up a bevvy of resources.

Love it!

Linda

Hi Linda, I use this blog almost daily. When I see a new person's profile I look to see if they are already having people follow them or not. If not, then I cut and paste a paragraph to bring them to this blog. I have not been here long enough to do training so this is my first training. I have been here a month today. Dave.

You take care and have a great day. Contact me by PM or wherever, whenever you want. Dave.

Thank you Linda, If you need anything, just let me know:)

Great post Dave.
Thanks.

Good advice dave! Two thumbs up! : )

Thanks, I had never clicked on the blue button. Very informative. I want to keep learning but feel bogged down with all the notifications. I guess I should get back to the green button.

Hi Beverly, I am seeing that it is easy to get bogged down. For example, how much time should I devote to commenting on WA vs doing some training vs writing and creating ebooks vs working on my website ideas vs still working 2 regular jobs. Well, you get the idea. One thing that I am doing now that is helping me keep it straight is a devoted notebook to training. Keep notes, ideas, url's, and any other information that you will need in one place. Just do not lose it! Make out a plan for a normal day as to how much time you are going to alot to a certain thing. Set a timer or alarm if this helps you keep on task. I used to think that I had to finish something before I started something else. Now I know that this is usually impossible to do. I can; however, do 15 minutes of this and 10 minutes of that which gets me to completion of several things at once. Dave.

Thanks very much. I am only on lesson 3 in course 1 and have not even made a website yet. I guess it all takes time. I am learning technology along the way as well. Ho, hum!

Beverley, I forgot to tell you that I also have a technology notebook. When I learn something new I jot it down there so that I can find it later when I need it. Dave.

I'm a newbie too and have had a similar experience! Thanks for the share!

Extremely informative. Thank you for taking the time to shed a little light on where to go and what to do. I am sure it will help a great many people as it has me.

Thanks, I just checked out your profile and you have made a great start for the first day. Do not hesitate to contact me in the future. I may not know an answer, but I know that we can find someone here who has the answer. Dave.

Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Have a good day.
