my background with PCs goes back to the early 80s.
what about pc's for specific purposes
i typed 'pc for ' into google and let it do the rest
you can do this within jaaxy as the alphabet soup and see if anything hit a chord with you.
might be worth picking a wideish topic so you can concentrate on a narrow part to start with to get noticed.

Yes, it would be far to broad a topic as consumer electronics would include surround sound systems and a whole lot more.
What exactly is your background with PCs?
Is it programing the different parts so that the computer works well?
Is it working with specific software in order to create something?
Your niche could be as focused as:
Computers
or
Hardware
or
Software
Google searching "finding computer niches" (without the quotation marks, of course) will provide you with helpful advice in order to help you make a decision as to which niche would suit your skills/passion best.
