That's right I used the same picture as the first post about me trying to quit smoking. That was on Tuesday and today is Friday.

I must say I am way more crabby or jumpy at my kids for the small stuff and catch myself when I do that.

I mean go from a lot to none you will have some anger issues but they are smaller everyday.

I have not had one since Tuesday and a lot of guys at work smoke so it really is a challenge to not smoke.

I also can't afford any right now so that really helps a lot. I hope that by next week I will have a way better look into the quitting and attitude about it.

Well guys that's all for now and thank you for stopping and reading.

Quitting is tough. It took a heart attack in 2018 to make me quit. Even after my heart attack I wanted to smoke. The first 3 months were the hardest. Like you I am in the mechanical trade and most smoke.

It gets easier but the craving never goes away. You have to have a powerful why to stop. I can't process the thought of leaving my children. My family is my life. I don't want my kids to lose dad at an early age as I did. Lost my dad at 4 years old and it sill affects me today.

It really is amazing how many people say that cravings never go away. Thank you for your kind comment.

Congratulations on quitting. I worked around smokers when I quit and the funny thing was, I never told them I quit. But, they continually offered me smokes. After a week I did tell them and two of my peers commented, they thought I was strapped for cash and couldn't afford them. Ha ha ha. In retrospect, teh first 3 days were the hardest.

I am hoping that by Monday I won't really crave them too much. Too many people at work smoke. Thank you for the comment.

Don't give up, you're close! Depending on how much you smoked before you decided to quit, usually after 1-2 weeks, it gets easier. You may feel some lack of concentration, but that shouldn't last long. When you finally stop thinking about smoking, you will be so happy that you've made a decision to quit. Trust me, it's from my own experience :) Keep preserving, you are on the right way!

Much success!

Nikola

Thank you so much I am looking forward to feeling better and all the other benefits that come with stopping.

Hello Douglas,
Taking one day at a time is key.
I have had to break off stuff in the past and taking one day at a time has been a real help.
Do not worry about tomorrow, focus on getting through today.
All the best, you can do this.
Darren :)

Thank you so very much, Darren. It is going well so far and I hope it will continue through the weekend.

At the end of the day...Thank you for another smoke free day...

Hey Doug that's great! I know it is hard to quit cold turkey but that is the best way. I quit in 2002 for the second time and have not picked one up since. It took me about three weeks to get over the grippy part. I was working in the barber shop with my brother, who did not smoke and never has. Smart guy. Anyway, he said that by the third week I was snapping everybody's head off anymore, which was a good thing. lol You can do this. Let God lead you through this trying period of nicotine withdrawal and you will be amazed at how much better you will feel.

Take care
Charlotte

Thank you so very much and it has always been a struggle for me to quit in the past. I couldn't even make it a day so this is a great start.

I'll PM you the main thing I did that helped me quit.
