Hope is a Beggar

"Why not take a chance on faith, not religion, but faith. Not, hope, I don't believe in hope...Hope is a beggar. Hope walks through the fire and FAITH leaps over it." ...Jim Carrey

Did I capture your attention just now? I hope so...oops, I have 'faith' that I did. Lol.

I fell in love with that quote after listening to a youtube video of Jim Carrey delivering an inspiring and moving commencement speech. One of the WA members had recommended this video on her blog, (thanks Debbie) and it was the perfect message for me to listen to as a 'newbie', especially since I had just written my very first blog here all about HOPE, and how I was now filled with HOPE for the very first time in a long time since becoming a member at WA. How fitting!

So, I have been really contemplating what that message implies. For me, it means one can't just dream, one needs to have faith in SELF and the ability to make what one is dreaming into a reality. Hope sees an opportunity as just that, an opportunity, a 'possibility'; I hope I succeed, I hope I am prosperous, I hope this is where I need to be and what I need to be doing. While faith sees all things as a KNOWINGNESS; I will succeed, I will be prosperous, I am exactly where I need to be doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I AM THAT I AM.

We are all going to be tested on our journey here at WA. The fears we have about being successful and prosperous will come to the surface, especially if we are still placing our focus on 'hope'. And while I still find myself hoping at times that things will go well for me, I find that I am even more inspired with faith as I make progress on my website each day, despite the chaos of the world that is sometimes going on around me.

Soon, I won't just be walking by the fire, I'll be leaping over it!

Here's the link to Jim's video...enjoy!

Dorie, great post. Love it. I myself have a hate affair with hope. I do not like to use that word, it sounds just not right. As far as I'm concerned hope is for the desperate, everybody else has determination
Keep being awesome Dorie:) Cheers

Yes, Dorie. I thinks this was well written. I like to read very good content, and this one is just that. I'm new to WA, but not at all new to reading blogs. Interesting read.

Thank you Shelita! That was very kind! And welcome to WA! I look forward to reading one of your blogs some day!

Coming soon!

You're very welcome, Dorie. I'm so glad that video inspired you. He did give a great speech that day. However, you have written a very inspirational blog so congrats to you as well. ~Debbi

Thank you Debbi! I so appreciate that!

Really good way of putting it Dorie. I agree with you 100%.

Thank you Emilie!

Great post. The video gave me chill bumps. Truly enjoyed that. Thank you.

Great thoughts.
I've found that wishing, hoping or praying is usually a 50 / 50 'coin flip' proposition at best. I don't like the odds.
What I can wrap my head around is "one needs to have faith in SELF"
I Believe I can always give myself better odds than a coin flip.

Phil, thank you! yes, much better odds, I definitely agree with that!

great inspirations, for me though I feel faith and hope go hand in hand, have a wonderful weekend

Thanks Katie! Yes, perhaps they do!

Thanks for the great inspiration!

Thank you Carla! And the same to you as well! I just love your blogs...but they distract me from working on my site. That's what my next blog is going to be about. Lol!

Ruh-Roh, I'm the villain, eh? LOL Wouldn't be the first time.

Lol! And you even mimic Scooby Doo! A woman after my own heart!

Excellent ... well said! M

Thanks M! I appreciate that so much!

Wow! This really resonates with me. I've left my life of wishing for something better behind in favour of a new life of believing that I will achieve success and being willing to put my all into working towards that goal.

Thank you Cheryl! It certainly takes our all doesn't it! I'm so glad this resonated with you!
