Creating Website Content With Humor
I'm not sure about y'all but I love to laugh and I love it even more when I can relate and didn't realize the humor in it. When creating website content, I suggest adding a little humor.
I was researching content for my website about wedding planning and I came across an article that made me laugh so hard I almost wet my pants. It was an article about choosing a dress to wear to a wedding and the problems with body type when you're older and what we have to choose from.
There is a statistic out there that says that people learn more when they are laughing than not. Like 85% more! I didn't learn much from the article but I sure could relate and I wanted to read more. It made me want to find more articles by the same woman and it inspired me. It inspired me to want to write like she did,
So I am encouraging you to consider humor in your content. If you do not think you are a very funny person, think about what you say that makes your friends laugh. It is advised to write your content like you are talking to someone so why not apply the same with your sense of humor?
My issue is that I have a very sarcastic sense of humor so sometimes if you are not right in front of me, you don't realize that I'm only joking. I'm going to have to deal with this but I truly want to make people WANT to come back to my website and find more articles written by me.
Whether you want people to really learn from your website content or just want to come back to hear more from you and enjoy your sense of humor, I suggest making people laugh as a way to make that happen.

I totally agree with this Dawn. I sometimes do include a little humor into my website content. I certainly write my content the same way I speak with people. Humor is a great way to clear the mind, to start your day, to make people want to follow you or more importantly, your content.
I enjoy making people smile and ultimately laugh. This is why for the past 3 Sundays I have been posting humorous/entertaining WA blog posts...and I'll be posting another one tomorrow. Ooops! I mean later this morning, as it is just after midnight her in the NY City Metro Area of NJ.
So yes! Humor is a great thing to add to your content. Like the saying goes, Laughter is good for the soul.
And the best medicine! Thanks for the comment Robert. I really enjoy your WA blogs. I guess I enjoy making people laugh also so I'm hoping to do some more of that. Not sure how you can do that when you are planning a $15,000 wedding. There's got to be some humor in there somewhere!

You can always save some money and have the captain of a boat perform the ceremony and then have all the guests meet at the park for a big BBQ.
Or is that too low class? lol
Robert-
Would love to do that. We are not beyond redneck ways around the normal in order to save money. Like just jiggling the handle on the toilet instead of actually fixing it.
Only daughter - want to give her the wedding of her dreams. Believe it or not, we have done a lot of things ourselves to save money. I think I just addressed that didn't I?

I agree. I have that in my first weblog. I used to be a very sarcastic person and I rant a lot too. Now, meeting new people and all this social stuff, I have to behave. lol
Sarcasism is so hard to put in writing so I'm really trying to use another way of being humorous but sometimes it just comes through. I just have to put "haha" after it so everyone knows I'm joking.
