Facebook Campaign Ad: should you do it?
Hello Everyone!
Today I want to talk to you about Facebook Campaign Ad, specifically should you do it?
There are numerous reasons why you may want to do a campaign.
My number one reason was to increase awareness to my website and to get some traffic to my website.
This is my first paid ad campaign and since most of my social media traffic is coming from Facebook, I figured I'd start with them.
I have a book review niche so I decided to boost my most recent book review.
Here's my campaign ad.
Budget:$30
2 days promotion: Saturday and Sunday (Dec 3,4)
Target audience: Men and Women 18-65 years old in the USA
Here are the results:
803 reached; 57 organic 746 paid
48 Post Engagement
Cost: $0.63 per post engagement
59 Likes
1 share (from another WA member)
0 Website visits
How successful was the Ad campaign?
My objective was to get awareness to my website and also to get some website visits.
As you can see by the results, I spent $30 and go zero website visits some awareness.
More disappointing is that I only got 59 likes as a result of all this.
I am not happy with the results.
Doing this campaign ad made me aware that I had not take the necessary steps in training to make my campaign ad enticing. Perhaps I should have looked at Jay's training before I embarked on a paid campaign.
Here's what I am going to do now!
I am going to go the old fashion route and use SEO and networking to promote my website. It's free and probably more effective.
I will put this under my belt as "nothing ventured nothing gained". Oh well, I gave it a try. :)
I hope this has not discourage you from doing your paid campaigns. I just wanted to share my results so you have something to compare it to.
I hope you have found this helpful. :)
Please feel free to like and let me know if you have done a campaign or will do one.
All the best,
Dinh

Hi Dinh. Thanks for sharing. Great that you gave it a go. But targeted ads are best. Your target audience is too wide. Whilst good design is important to make your address enticing, spend time doing a customer profile of your ideal client. That way next time you go to set up a FB ad you'll be clearer on audience behaviours and interests. This may lower your estimated daily reach, but ensures more targeted traffic. Hope that helps. All the best. Maggie
Thanks Maggie,
I used the audience from my google analytics that showed me me where most of my visitors were coming from, their age range and gender. I need more targeted audience I guess.
I am not convince in ad campaigns for my site. I have keywords on page 1 but the volume is not there.....I thought this campaign would give me some traffic at least...
Thanks for the advice!
