Using Google Lens for Keyword Research

So, about a year ago, I wrote about Google Lens, see below.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/dianescorpio/blog/what-is-go...

At the time, I discussed how to use the app on your phone.

However, it can be used in a different way on your desktop/laptop, etc.

And now, it can also help with your keyword research.

Let's take a look at how it works.

First of all, find an image that relates to your niche.

For the purposes of this post, I have randomly chosen a pizza!

Next, right-click on the photo and go to Search Image with Google Lens.

You will get a lot of results in different categories, depending on the subject of the image.

So, the first result I see is a recipe.

Looks nice, might try it!

Under that are links to a couple of websites that have information relating to the subject.

Scroll further and you will see the People Also Ask section, exactly as you would in a normal Google search.

This gives you an idea of what people are genuinely searching for and is the basis for your keyword search.

And then you will see further links to other websites.

As these will be your competitors for getting on page 1 of Google, take a look at their posts and decide if you can write something better, more informative, more in-depth, more up to date, etc.

And if you scroll again, you will also see the related searches box.

So, there you are, an interesting way to do your keyword research through the use of an image!

However, you don't always get these types of results, it depends on the subject of your image.

Why not give it a go?

Tried to do what you said but it did not work it keeps taking me to my computer.

Don't have google lens activated for my PC. Went to Google to add it to my computer.

Hi - it works differently on a computer. You don't use the app.

Just right-click on any photo on the internet and you will see the option that says Search Image with Google Lens.

Google lens is an app for both mobile AND desktop, available through Chrome.

To use it on mobile or desktop you need to download the app.

Thanks for the clarification!

I have the app on my phone, but just right-click on images to use it on desktop, so I will have a look at that.

Cheers!

I have been trying since I read your post and do not get that at all on the choices.

You're welcome, Diane. I found the information by doing some research, I had not ever heard of Google Lens before.

Hi - I wouldn't spend too much time on it, to be honest. I just thought it would be of interest for people to try out.

I also get you don't have access to this app

https://nerdschalk.com/how-to-use-google-lens-on-pc-5-ways-explained/
went here it get it working on the PC and it does work after doing this plus adding extension through google

If you have windows 10 and later this is not needed it is already in the coding for windows as part of it. IT is set up like smartphones with an AI base.

Thanks for the info, Diane! Another shortcut to getting some useful results.

Most definitely worth a try Diane... any tool that can aid in keyword research is a good tool in my opinion!

I would just be a little wary about trying the Margherita Mushroom pizza recipe above though!!

It seems a little heavy on the toppings to me!

I mean 8lbs of frozen mushrooms, 96oz of Nutritionally enhanced pizza sauce (whatever that is), 12lbs of mozzarella and over 5lbs of tomatoes seems a little excessive for one 16" pizza!

Or maybe I misread and that is the recipe for a 16 foot pizza!

Oh wow, I never noticed the proportion of ingredients!

I do like my food and new recipes.. so I had to have a more in depth view of the ingredients here Diane!

A little disproportionate to say the least!

Do you think that this recipe is the featured one in Googles eyes?

Hmm, interesting! When you search Margherita Mushroom Pizza, the website that includes that recipe is listed in the top 3 images, but the recipe itself is not shown.

And the website appears to show food ideas for schools, so not really appropriate for the average searcher.

Apparently, the recipe serves 96 (or one hungry Partha lol).

12 x 16" pizzas, each cut into eight.

That is indeed interesting Diane.. so basically we could rank higher with the Big G having a quality photo and not so much our content?

Also,I believe even a very hungry Partha may struggle slightly to get through that amount of pizza in one sitting!šŸ¤£

Yes, you can definitely rank in Google Images, but there are some SEO guidelines to follow. I can feel another blog post coming on...

Interesting to hear Diane.. I look forward to reading your blog post in regards to this..

This is really interesting about using Google lens on a desktop for keyword research. For me, as a visually impaired person the mobile google lens app is a God send on a daily basis.
Thanks for sharing this Diane.
