ChatGPT: Let It Criticize Your Post!

So, are you brave enough to let ChatGPT criticize your work?

This is a straightforward prompt to ask ChatGPT why you might not be ranking for a certain keyword.

Let's see it in action!

I am sticking with my use of a popular website, and a dog-related article from it.

Here is the exact prompt you need to type in -

I am trying to rank for the keyword "why does my dog sleep so much?" Act as a critic, why is the post below so bad?

You then copy and paste the whole post, as per the screenshot below.

Now, let's see what ChatGPT thinks of it.

You now have some advice on how to improve your post.

A quick word of advice on ChatGPT, without wishing to get too technical!

It works by using "tokens" and has a limit of 4000 tokens per request.

After 4000 tokens has been used, it forgets what it is doing.

4000 tokens is roughly equivalent to 3000 words.

So, if you give it a very long prompt, that uses up a bigger proportion of tokens, not leaving many left over for the answer.

So, let's say, that you were trying the example above, and your post was 2500 words, that will use up a lot of tokens, not giving you many left to provide an in-depth answer.

Great info Diane. Ran this on a couple of posts that aren't ranking very high. Ouch, is what I have to say on a couple of them, LOL. The truth hurts sometimes.

After getting over the initial shock I was able to use the info for a better post. Can't wait to see what happens.

Great use of ChatGPT! I don't like the results I got, but I am improving it and trying again.

Following your lead, I gave it a URL and asked to "analyze the SEO effectiveness of the post located at the following URL:" And it did. I found I had to direct it to follow the URL or it inspected the URL itself.

Question: as I'm not native English,I sometimes feel like my articles are badly written and it is hard to look for a variety of words and I feel like every article I write has the same boring style and it feels defenitely like it's written by a non-native English speaker.
I was thinking to let Chat Gtp rewrite an article I'm working on, and it looks more clearer to read and just general better.
Would it harm the SEO of my site if I let GTP do this?
thanks

Well, that's the million-dollar question!

Google used to say that all generated content would be treated as spam and not ranked highly.

But last month, it said that AI content would not automatically be penalized if it was still helpful.

It may not be worth the risk to simply copy and paste, but it can certainly help with tidying up your posts, proofreading, coming up with ideas and outlines.

You may have seen me mention elsewhere, that I am currently running an experimental site just out of curiosity built entirely with AI content.

In the space of less than a month, I have added 135 posts, of which 128 are indexed, numerous keywords ranking, and 44 unique visitors from 3000 impressions.

But I wouldn't advise anybody to do this, it could crash at any moment!

Good advice thank you.

Quite curious when it's going to crash ;-) Could be great though for a quick buck maybe lol. Definitely not a long term business

This is great. I have been using chat GPT for a while, but had no idea it could critique my posts. Great! One more person to critique me. At least it’s a smart person.

Hi, Diane

That's a great use case for OpenAI.

However, some of the errors and oversights that ChatGPT lists might actually be what makes our writing more "human."

Once we let AI optimize everything, it could feel as though it was written more as a research paper than something enjoyable but informative.

Of course, it also depends on the niche. For example, on my guitar site, my reader base consists predominantly of Metal and Rock players.

I'm always attempting to give them the technical info they need from someone they can identify with. BTW, please give your husband my best regards! 😎

Rock On! 🤘
