An Idiot's Guide to Headlines
Hopefully, you are not bored with my series on headlines! Today, I am throwing a few random ones into the mix. The first one is to address the headline to a group which the reader may be a part of - hence, my "idiot's guide"! Perhaps not the best example, as your visitors may be insulted, but it is a well-known phrase. By targeting a group, people should identify with it and want to read more. Here are some more friendly examples:
A Senior's Guide to Buying on Amazon
A Novice Cook's Guide to Barbecues
A Blonde's Guide to the Perfect Shade
Next, we have the Ultimate Guide. Who can resist this? It promises everything you could possibly need to know about a subject. Why would you go anywhere else to read about it? It goes without saying, that it really does have to cover the subject - don't let your readers down with just 500 words! Let's see it in action:
The Ultimate Guide to Asking for a Date
The Ultimate Guide to Making Money Online
Facebook Ads - Your Ultimate Guide
Now, we have the "How to Fix It" headline. These offer a hack to solve a specific problem, targeting busy people who want to know the answer right now! Some examples here:
A Broken Zipper? Here's How to Fix It
Headache? How to Fix It Without Drugs
Gained a Few Pounds? How to Fix It Fast

If I were looking for something specific those titles would draw my attention. I read where "how to's" are very popular.
Thanks much, PattiB
