I would suggest that coffee is too broad a niche, so you have to narrow it down to decaf or world's best coffees or something similar. According to WA any niche has the potential to generate a nice income.
That's good to hear. Yes, I am thinking about doing that..narrowing it down some more.

You can absolutely vary the topics on your site, it's *your* site, after all. Now whether or not it will be optimized for SEO is a different story.
So, is keeping it on one topic what helps SEO? I guess I didn't really understand why we were keeping it on just one subject, other than I can see how we could get sidetracked talking about 100 different things.
Yes, because if you keep it to one topic, you're only competing with X sites... but if you're talking about 20 topics, you're competing with 20x sites, and not likely to become an 'authority site' on any one of those topics.
