YREKA, I found it!
12
0n a absolutely beautiful evening I was sitting out on the veranda banging away on my laptop. I was franticly trying to come up with a solution to a challenge I have with my consulting business. With my business growing I found I couldn't be everywhere at the same time. I needed to create a downloadable program (a reference manual) to help guide clients thru troubled waters when I 'm unavailable. Then it hit me square between the eyes. I am going to need a website. I don't know how to build a website. I guess I could hire someone. No, I've done that before and it never works out. The sizzle always gets lost in translation. You know what? I need to learn to build my own website. Then I woke up for just a second, your not tech-no savvy. What are you thinking, have you lost your mind!
So I 'm hanging out with the horses (o.k., I 'm cleaning stalls) and I can't get this building my own website out of my mind. My cell phone rings and its my Mother. Luck seemingly being on my side, it ends up being a very fortuitous call. As we speak, my Father is in his den (at age 73) learning to build his own website. (I 'm not lying). It seems he has his own project. She hands him the phone and after we visit for a while. I get the info on his Guru. Naturally excited, I finish my chores and head for my laptop.
My Father gives me his user name and password to check out his program. So I 'm deeply involved in pouring over his program and I get stuck (imagine that!). So I call my Dad and ask him a few questions. He can't help me. I said Dad, what do you do if you get stuck? I just call my consultant. Really, how much does that cost. $200.00 for initial set-up. o.k. then what? Well your going to need this and your going to need that and eventually you will need this also! Of course what followed was dollar amount, dollar amount and dollar amount! Thanks Dad, I'll get back to you.
Well, why I 'm I surprised. Knowledge is power, I know that. I 'm a consultant and knowledge is what I sell. So dust yourself off and let's get this thing going! So I pay dollar amount, dollar amount and well you know. I'm tearing up the course studies to get my money's worth and then it happened. I'm in the study your completion section. I 'm instructed to search out websites and write down what I like and what I don't like. They gave me a link to search to get started. I clicked on it and YREKA, Wow their it was Wealthy Affiliate number two on the front page of Google. That's not where they sent me, but that's where I landed. The rest is history.
I just want to finish by saying something to Kyle, YOU-DA-MAN. What a great consulting business you have!
Later, Dave

Very interesting and good blog. But, you leave me wondering, who was number one and why did you not go with them. Don't get me wrong. You made the right choice. After all, I am here also.
Hi Dave,
Great post.
Did you get your Dad to join WA as well?
Seems he could do with the help.
Neil
It pretty much shouts to the heavens about how tech-no savvy I really was. Since joining WA I 'm now the resident consultant (sometimes). A man once said: To live though a impossible situation. You don't need the muscles of Hercules or the mind of Einstein. You simply need to know what to do. WA provides that! Later Kali

I'm glad you were pointed to analyze the competition. It is amazing what you can find when you actually start to realize what is out there and how much more WA provides for a smaller dollar.
Eureka moments are wonderful aren't they.
