I have been exploring ways to earn more income. I am from Maine but due to some twist of fate, had lived in Florida for 13 years. My family consists of four adult children, their spouses, children and a partner (gentleman friend).

Fortunately for me I have not been involved with any scam sites. I did my homework and ended up here. Now my hope is that I can make it work.

I have just renovated an 1855 home on an island off the coast of Maine. It was in terrible shape and many people said that it could not be done. I am proud of the job I did there. I rented it out last summer (2012) and again this year. The house is very livable and higher end for where it is. www.House-on-the-Hill.me is the story of the process. The blog is now closed as I have sold the house in Maine and am now building and finding that building from scratch is more expensive than I thought it would be.

I have looked at job skills required for a VA and find that many of them require this type of experience and a long time commitment.

I have a Real Estate license and also a Property Management Certification in Florida.

I certainly have a lot to learn here. Just a bit out of my element. However, this is the third house I have done and I do have a blog about the process. Since I already have a blog, I am trying to figure out if I can make it bring in income.

Hello, Patricia! I'm a South Floridian :) I'm also looking for a great way to make money as I move toward early retirement from teaching. By the way, I think it would be so cool to renovate an old house like you've done. Kudos for doing what others said couldn't be done! My dream is to one day buy and renovate one of the quaint old Victorian houses in the historic district of Savannah, GA -- perhaps, converting it to a B&B.

Thank you for your warm welcome. I do like what I have seen so far but, although I consider myself fairly computer savvy, this is new to me. I do have a blog though. I am going to have a lot of questions.
