Hello fellow Wealthy Affiliate Members.

I'll try and keep this blog as brief as I can. I have today re activated my account with Wealthy Affiliate.

For many different reasons, I didn't renew initially because I wanted to check out the other hosting offers that are avaialble. This was driven by many factors and led me to review, an absolute stack of them, all of which drew me to comparing back to Wealthy Affiliate

It seems that the vast majority of hosts, offer what seem to be good plans ar first glance, but without exception, all of them offer a restricted amount of sites that you can host, even the one I was thinking of going to, has for some reason decided to scale down from unlimited to just 2 sites!

So, then I compared what is offered here at WA, with AWS directly that opened my eyes up somewhat,. I can see first hand now wny AWS is so highly recommended and how it operates. It was a very interesting insight into what they offer and how theycan offer it

What was even more revealing, is that the closest plan I could match to Wealthy Affiliate, was in fact, on its own for a single website & by my calculations, around $16 more, but for around half the web space offered here, so going it along on AWS was ruled out and that was not taking into account that none of the education was offered

I have now exhausted my search for a comparable host, yes I know Kyle stated in a blog post that WA's offering was the best avaialble, but I have never taken someones word for it, nothing against Kyle, he and Carson are the owners after all, but I wanted to test beyond certain that it was.

So I have now renewed my subscription, I'm pleased I have, because it fits in with the direction I wish to go in now.

Additionally since being in my Hiatius I have also switched my theme out completely and moved to Thrive Themes, which has been a total revelation and made website working fun again.

I have ditched Elementor Pro & Generate Press, because one of the things I have learned in being away is how restrictive some themes are, irrespectrive whether they are paid or Free

Thrive Themes is built oin Boot Strap, which has always been a interest of mine work wise and means that the blog I now have is a completely conversion focused theme. One of the advantages of this is that I can now Pin directly from my blog to Pinterest

The other change I have made, is with my autoresponder and having evaluated a stack of them, I now have one that is completely set up for bloggers and authors, so that is on my website now.

My next stage is to continue building up my YouTube Channel, so that gets to 1,000 Subscribers.

Outside of that, I have peace of mind now with my hosting choice and ready to go again.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to learning more.

Welcome back, and thanks for the summary of your efforts. I will be checking out your website to see the products you are using.

It is always good to have confirmation that the products we have invested in is one of the best available. As you say the only way to be sure is to do your own research. (so thank you for that).

You now have a lot of information you can use for building confidence on your site and letting people know what great value WA is. Certainly, as sites grow there are better services that will work more efficiently (or so I have been told).

But for overall value, WA is definitely the Toyota of the internet. Reliable, low cost, with plenty of features that people do not even know they need or want until they use them.

Alex

Alex, thanks for commenting and you are right with what you say about 100% confidence.

One of the important clinchers for me was actually seeing which big companies use AWS & their reasons, along with the realisation that even with my own plan there it would be more expensive than here.

As a result the clarity of direction now makes a world of difference

Hi Dave
Interesting to read your experiences.
For me WA is very much about the hosting. I’ve looked elsewhere too and I don’t see anywhere that can compete with what we get here.
I also agree about Thrive too. I use them on several sites and the usability and functionality is brilliant.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave, I'm 99% certain now that there is no other host that comes close to what is here.

Seems to be for whatever reason hosting prices are increasing while the number of sites you can have is decreasing.

The question of why is this was asked to a few, but with no definitive answer, which immediately puts you off wanting to go with Host X

As for Thrive Themes, total agreement with you makes everything so much easier on the site.

I have tried several of their products out so far and found the affiliate plan to be very generous too.

Combined with WA just a no brainer winner.

How many sites do you have

Dave - Very good research and explanation of the same. I am biased about your choice but based my experience on hooking up with one of those websites that you start out a bottom feeding supporting all the leaches above you making all the money. That one lasted me a week. Thanks for the share.

Thansk for commenting Ed. Out of Interest which one was it for you

I can not recall the name but it based out of Utah and their major product was delivering Wine by the case & their Friday night meetings was a win fest. I got out as soon as I understood what was going on. My reason was, I don't drink. Before I excused myself I got on YouTube I ran into Roope signed up for free and went premium in less than 7 days and resigned the other.

Very Wise move and Roope has a good solid channel too.

Welcome home, Dave :-)
Thank you for sharing your experiences and findings, it's reassuring for anyone who may have doubts.
I am very interested to know which auto responder you went for, you are welcome to let me know here or via PM.
Glad you're back!
Blessings as always
Louise

Thanks Louise, Its nice of you to comment. I posted the blog really for those who, maybe have doubts about WA or want to know if there is anything better out there.

I also hope that you are free from Covid as well &I'll gladly PM you

Hi Dave good to see you and best wishes as you reconnect, hosting is one of those worlds where we get what we pay for. WA is top of the range.

Resources can make a huge difference in outcomes.

Not sure what Site Ground is up to, looking on other providers are starting to hydraulic the prices.

Alex

Cheers Alex. I have looked at SiteGround, 3 times now in the past 12 months and as you say they are putting prices up while restricting what you can do.

One of the things I was looking for was a cPanel, but when push came to shove and other things considered, it might be more time consuming to have that.

Even with AWS directly, you have a cPanel, of sorts but its called a bucket. So from my undeerstanding of how WA works in conjunctiuon with AWS, it seems we have a community wholesale pricing, which is what AWS offers, that being the case, then no WA can't be beaten.
