OK you Lords and Ladies of the AI world. The Bux is ready to dive into the magical pool of AI and take the world by storm – or perhaps a very light shower.

A couple of you have suggested that I should get involved and even made recommendations, but in typical Bux style, I’ve put the pieces of paper somewhere … somewhere that I cannot find them.

My task is that I must put together a couple of papers on geometry and calculus, with drawings and sketches, and I’m interested to see …

A. What AI suggests I should write

B. Can AI actually write them for me and how do I prompt it

C. Just how accurate and useful is the AI bot in helping me to achieve this

D. And finally, could I have done better on my own without AI help.

So … my question is simple …

Where do I start, please make some suggestions about which AI packages I should use, what should be my entry level, which AI is going to be of the most benefit to me?

Are there free ones or are paid ones better? I will pay to get the right package.

All help will be very gratefully appreciated. You might think that everyone knows what you already know about AI, but I don’t, so please don’t be afraid of submitting useful suggestions.

All learning begins with a question …

And I promise to keep a paper copy of all the responses – in a safe place.

Make the most of life folks, walk on the sunny side.

'Bux Does AI'.... That's not a title for a blog I expected to read!!

Where do I start??

Firstly... happy to see you are finally venturing out from the stone age!!!

🀣🀣

Just kidding buddy, you know me!!

I am actually a paid subscriber to Poe.com (this is not an affiliate link or am I in no way affiliated with them)!

I pay about 23$ a month for their services...

They must have at least 50-60 (maybe more, I have never counted) different AI bots or services at ones disposal...

They include most of the mainstream ones like the newest ChatGPT4o, all of the Claude versions, Dalle E, Flux (which I personally love for creating great images) and a whole lot more I haven't even used!

The wife had absolutely no idea about how AI tools could help her with her work and we sat down one evening and I explained (very basically) how it could speed up the tasks she needed to do...

Now she uses it on a daily basis and much more than I do!!

Don't ask me exactly what she does, but it writes code, something to do with a Python I believe much quicker than she ever could!!

Anyway... back to the point here!

There is a free version of Poe, which I used for many months before upgrading where you can basically test drive each individual bot to see which works best for your needs...

There was a daily limit on how many prompts you could give it depending on the... I guess size or popularity of each bot...

But.... In your case here when your focus is on geometry and calculu, I would suggest (from what the wife has said) Claude 3.5 Sonnet is the better option!

Without knowing exactly what you want to achieve it's pretty hard to give you an exact response here!!

At the end of the day as Richard said... the more detailed and better quality info you give... will always result in a more detailed and better response!

Feel free to PM me what exactly you are looking for as an end tesult my friend and I will come up with some prompts we can play around with ok!!

Take care buddy!

Stone Age is about right Nick. However, I have been looking at YT stuff on got and similar and it has opened up a new train of thought for another niche. I’m reviewing my video creating methods too, a big overhaul of everthing I do. Time to up the anti.
At the moment I don’t know what I want, but will do soon. Sometimes we just need to sleep on things and let the brain chatter do it’s stuff.
I will be asking. Thanks.

It's never too late to up the anti and learn something new Bux!

Each and every day should be a learning day in my opinion!

Let me know if I can help more ok!!

I'm beat and off to bed.... this new diet is taking it out of me!!

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒπŸ₯¬πŸŽπŸ‡

Gosh, I'm not surprised you feel rough, you must have been on that diet for at least 12 hours. I admire your stamina and commitment.
Every day is a school day as they say.
Catch you soon
Bux

Certainly committed Bux, but I weighed myself this morning only to find I had put on two lbs overnight! :-)

Remember, every journey begins with a single step!

You got this, Bux!

I would begin with the AI writers here at WA and work from there. I also use Chat GPT for many simpler things as well.

Go get em!

Tim 🎼

Hmmm, useful comments Tim. Thanks.
I'm reviewing all my video making processes, I have an idea for a new video niche or two and I really must modernise how I do things.
Bux

There are a lot of people here with great advise and much more experience than me!

I will begin a deep dive back into my AI and YT video journey once our weather gets into fall and winter months. I may be looking for your advise at that time.

Thanks, Bux!

Tim 🎼

You are very welcome Tim, always happy to help.

Hi Bux
I've tried a few but keep returning to a paid version of ChatGPT 4o. Geometry and calculus? I've no idea. But you can of course ask the AI tool for input to your inputs! I.e., all AI tools react to input and the more accurate your input, the better your output.

However, you can ask the AI tool how to "prompt it". So, I'd start by asking something like "Can you help me with geometry and calculus?", then react dependent on the answer you get. However I have no idea how accurate AI will be with geometry and calculus... but again, you can ask it "Is that result accurate?" if it's not obvious.
;-)
Richard

Very useful info Richard. A few folk have suggested GPT 4o and I'm currently working my way through some YT videos on it.
I also need a good text to speech package with British voices, does GPT4o do this.
Thanks for your comments, really appreciated.
Bux

I talk to ChatGPT directly on iPhone and it answers back. Also it's an excellent OCR. I give it an image with words in more or less any language and it instantly translates to a language of my choice (usually English of course).
;-)
Richard

Wow Richard, that is one of the things I was looking for to help me to keep my French up to date when not in France.
Thanks.
Bux

Hey Dave
You can always ask AI to tutor you in a language. I haven't tried this myself yet... I must ask for help with my Portuguese!
;-)
Richard

I just tried ChatGPT 4o for learning Portuguese. It understand my speaking when I turn the mic on but can't reply out loud. Perhaps I'll find a way. It tutors logically but has to use phonetics to indicate pronunciation.
;-)
Richard

Hi Bux!

I use the free version of ChatGPT for some of my writing tasks, but others have told me the paid 4.0 version is better.

I save blogs here in WA in a bookmarked folder in my browser. Would a bookmarked folder be a better idea than a paper copy that gets lost? LOL

It probably would Howard, but some of us old school types just don't do the right thing. I must do this, thanks for the nudge, its been a rough year with all this leukemia treatment.
On and up
Bux

I hope you are winning the health war, Bux! Best wishes for improving health!!

Always a fighter Howard, and yes, I'm keeping healthy even if it is hard work some days. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about and I've never been a couch potato. This AI thing is a long term project for me so I expect to be around a good while and get my money's worth out of it.
Take care
Bux

Ahoi! Epie! Woohoo! Ahoy! Buxoi....

Abie (Abieoi)

πŸ˜±πŸŽ‰πŸ™πŸ€—πŸŽ‰πŸ™πŸ€—πŸŽ‰πŸ˜±

Keep the momentum going, Buxoi!

You're doing fabulousnessly amazing!! I knew you would at some point.....✍️

If you're not already using it, you should really use the pro version of GPT-4o to get the most out of it, including the AI article designer found here.

You're good if you make the content your own and cross-reference your findings. Make sure the piece reflects your unique voice.

I also subscribe to Claude because it writes more human-like text than GPT.

There's also Perplexity and RightBlogger.

Abie

Thank you Abie. I did write down your GPT recommendation last week, but couldn't remember the -4o extension. A bit of a rough time with the medicines last week, better this week.
What do you mean by - making sure the piece reflects your unique voice.
Do you mean a real voice or do you mean a unique style.
Many thanks.
Look after yourself.
Bux

AI-assisted vs. AI-created, i.e., not taking AI text at face value vs. checking the facts and inputting your voice, experiences, and emotions to make it your own.

I also believe you asked that prior, lol. As far I can remember.

Take care, Buxoi! You'll be rocking at it in no time.

Abie (Abieoi)

Got it Abie. Yes, exactly my intention, to use AI to make the cake and then for me to decorate in my own inimitable way. Super.
You are an ace friend, thanks for the help.
Bux 🌹

Yup, you got that right!

You are more than welcome, Bux! Please keep us updated on your progress. You are ace, too, Buxoi! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ™
