ALWAYS CHECK before pressing the button

Sometimes we just assume that what we see is correct, without actually checking or questioning things. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. No knowledge can be disastrous.

Like this guy here who worked for a Welsh council. Tasked with producing a direction sign in two languages, English and Welsh, he had no trouble with the English words. However, his Welsh language skills were not up to speed, so he decided to use the services of a natural Welsh speaker to help him.

He emailed his colleague with a request to translate the following …

No entry for heavy goods vehicles. Residential site only.

No problem with that, bang the button and the request is emailed over to him. Except that the recipient of the email was on holiday and had set up an auto-reply on his emails.

His automated response was received and the sign duly printed, as below.

Translated into English, the auto reply was …

I am out of the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated.

This was email, but I have seen this happen with the developing AI world, where people do not check what AI bots are telling them before declaring it as β€œall my own work” Always look at your finished product before pressing the upload button. Too many boo-boos like this and you could lose credibility and potential purchasers.

Enjoy the day folks.

Good point, Bux.

Myra β™₯️

Thanks Myra, one to watch out for.
Bux

Too funny, Bux!

Jeff

But it happens Jeff. I'm not a fan of multi-lingual signs. They should just be the language of the country.
Bux

I agree with your assessment, Bux!

Jeff

Good point!

A friend of mine just posted on his social media that he had just purchased two more domains. One was for a new site he has planned. The other was because he neglected to double check his spelling when he selected the domain.

A second look is always a good idea!

Oh no. So easily done when 10 seconds of checking would avoid this.
Good point.
Hope you are well.
Bux

All's well here. How are you?

I have a white curtain on one of my browsers vs a button, lol Unable to resolve the issue.

You are right; cross-reference findings are a MUST.

Thanks Abie. I feel your frustration.
Bux

I am gutted, Sir Bux :)

This is hilarious but sad at the same time. You make an excellent point

Thanks Mark. It happens more than we think.

Now strawberries are a good idea, with vanilla ice cream.

Go for it, I am sure it will be tasty πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ“πŸ“

Sorted, strawberries, blueberries and ice cream.
Mouth watering already.

Wow!! You are fast and furious 🀣🀣

They were very nice, oh, and a few raspberries on top.

You are ridiculous :) Where's my portion? lol

Aaaagh! I thought there was a lot in my bowl.

Seems like we’re starting a trend

Really? You could have saved me a bit πŸ“

Yeah, I believe so ... Here have a strawberry πŸ“

Sorry. Strawberries will always be trendy.

Yup, that's true... Berry Very True

πŸ“

I will make a bowl of fruit just for you, tomorrow. Topped with double cream.

Okay, thank you, Sir Bux; I'd be in a better mood... Hopefully πŸ™

It happens to all of us Abie. we know how you felt today with the problems, but nothing we could say would help. Sometimes you just have to put these things down to "another training experience."

I've just had some Pistachio Ice cream, oh yeah! It was yummy...
πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ§πŸ¨

I loved my ice cream last night πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ§πŸ¨

Jealous.

πŸ‘‘πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ‘‘

I'm not surprised, pistachio is one of those exceptional flavours.
I need more. Did you save me any.
Have a great day Abie
Bux

Yeah, I have a BIG tub here, lol. Why? You want some.

Now you're teasing.
I'm having an ice cream crisis.
❀️

For you, with love πŸ¨πŸ¨πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ™

Noooooo! This makes my vanilla look like ... well, vanilla.
So glad you enjoyed it. We all need those little pleasures.
Don't work too hard.
