It's Time For A Decision

I like to think I am a reasonably easy-going guy and it takes a lot to rile me, but one thing that really burns my biscuits is people who can't make a decision.

I have one friend in particular who drives me insane with his inability to make a decision. It often comes to the fore on the golf course when he takes an age to decide what club to hit or what line to take with a putt...

Anyway I had a customer in the pharmacy today who kept everyone late with his inability to make a decision. With all the barbers / hairdressers closed he decided to start cutting his own hair and so was looking at hair clippers - 5 minutes before closing time.

He decided to ask my opinion (because obviously I am an authority on hair...) and I laid out for him the pros and cons of each model he had in front of him. Despite having all the information he needed, he still couldn't make a decision and dithered and faffed between 2 different ones.

He asked my opinion again - I told him which one I'd choose. Still, no decision!!!

It was now 5 minutes past closing time and everyone else was getting a bit hacked off.

At which point he decided to phone his mother for advice!!!!!

Making Decisions

One of the most important things you can do in your life is to train yourself to be an active decision- maker.

Decisions are what make things happen, but too often we sidestep the issue and put off reaching one. We procrastinate in the hope that the problem will go away or that someone else will take charge. (Maybe your mother!!!)

It won't go away - and why should someone else make decisions for you?

Every time you are in a potential decision-making situation, be positive! Make a decision to act one way or another. (It is okay to decide to seek more information - at least you ave committed to a positive action - but follow up on it, find the info you need and make the decision)

Making decisions allows you to move forward. Follow your instinct and you will make a lot more good decisions than bad ones.

Sometimes you will realise you have made a bad decision. When you do, it's time to make another decision on how to remedy the bad decision. Don't allow a bad decision to stop you making further decisions.

The more you do it, the easier it will become.

Resolve to become more decisive and you will make a lot more progress in a lot less time!

Good luck

That would have driven me nuts! Make a choice and get on with it. If you don't like it, you can always return it (I think)...haha

You'll never get anywhere if you can make a decision. Even if it's the wrong choice, you're still moving forward, right?

Stay Well,

Michael

Totally agree with you Michael.
People who spend hours agonising over every decision then wonder why they are being left behind.

Take it easy
Dave

By the way, did you see my question about the Vidsite Pro?

Hi Earl

I couldn’t resist! I’m such a child 😂😂😂

We have to laugh when we can. Hope you’re having a great week.

Alex 😁

Laughter is definitely the best medicine.
I wish some of my customers would take a dose of it 🤔

Thanks again
Dave🤣

You should give out happy pills with every sale - that would cheer them all up!! LOL

Some of them would need a whole box!

No regrets. Make the decision and stand by it. If you're wrong, take it on the chin, move on and learn from it.
Great post Dave.

Thanks Twack
I totally agree. Every day we are faced with decisions to be made. The sooner we make those decisions the better. Owning your decisions is just as important!

Cheers
Dave

Exactly that. At the end of the day, you get some wrong, deal with it.

Oh yes - I have made some shocking decisions over the years but I made them all with the best of intentions. It hasn't stopped me making decisions yet!
