From the looks of it, it seems like these instant follows are a scam. I only wish that everyone in the community can see this so that they don't fall into the trap in their quest to get more traffic.

Hi - I did it once as a test, to get twitter followers for a random account.

It worked. One minute the account had 0 followers - the next it had 4,000.

Now, even if you have a huge network of followers - sending a note, email, tweet to them, will NOT get an instant response of exactly the number of followers the $5 was guaranteed to get you. So it was obvious to me it was a scam, and I'll never go near it again. The 4,000 "followers" were no doubt fake accounts, setup exactly for this purpose - to allow the scammer to "sell" followers time and time again.

There was absolutely 0 interaction with any of them.

My advice is to stay away - as has been said, the search engines will get to know quickly, what accounts are fake - and I can't see them rewarding you for it.

It doesn't matter whether they are a scam or not, they are definitely not good for your SEO rankings. Buying Retweets, Favorites, Likes, Followers, or anything you should be doing yourself is not looked favorably on by Google. They are quite clear in their webmaster tools guidelines of what you should not do.

Have not given them any attention!

Google has become clever and knows when likes and followers are bought so they hold no weight.

Also like and followers have to be constantly active to bring any benefit

I know a few people here have done something like this before joining WA. Nothing good came out of it and they would NOT do it again.

Some of these are actually true but many are scams. Not real scams but they're bots and many get them from blackhat and I don't recommend because I heard YouTube and google don't take these things likely if they figure out they're not real. It might work for some but its just a risk thing.
