Frustrating day
So I managed to set aside some time today to work on my website but have come away feeling a bit frustrated.
First I installed the Easyazon plugin so I could use the link localiser and take advantage of the traffic that's coming from overseas (which at the moment is over half). Well that didn't work and I got some sort of error message so I have emailed their support and I'm hoping they can come back to me with an answer.
Next I tried the AdSense forum again to get some opinions on why my AdSense application hasn't been approved. I had been on the forum previously and was given a couple of suggestions which I tried but it didn't help. The person who tried to help me however was positive about my site and thought it deserved to be approved. This time when I asked opinions on why it wasn't approved I had another person tell me they thought (and I quote) "Cuz it's a thin amazon affiliate. It's web spam". I don't mind people having their opinions if it's constructive, but to say that when I've been writing (hopefully) informative content, which is unique and from my own personal experience, I find it quite insulting and it has actually given me doubts.
Have to go away and come back with a positive mind set tomorrow so I can go and prove that person wrong!

Hey Danni, I understand how you feel when someone says something rude. I know how this can stick in your head when moving forward.
When something negative comes in my mind, I promise myself to stay committed.
Taking a break is good, but always come back and don't let someone determine your future. You're stronger than that and them. Keep at it your site is amazing.
Believe me, I know what you're feeling Danni. These things will always happen in this business. Even though I've been in it for over 9, these days still happen. The good news is that as time goes on and your experience in this business rises, you will have less and less problems to deal with.
My rule of thumb if nothing is going well is to just take a break and completely distract myself with something fun, then return back to business when I feel calmer.
I feel for you Danni, you do seem to have had a tough day but definitely don't take notice of anyone that's makes meaningless comments without any backup evidence... they are the ones spamming, they have nothing better to do.
You do right to take a break and return tomorrow with renewed vigour.
Hopefully you will get your technical issue with Easyazon sorted soon and if you don't manage to sort out your Adsense issue any time soon, have you thought about using an alternative?

Thanks Debbie. I have considered looking at alternatives but not sure what would be as good as AdSense. If it comes to it though I will use something else. Onwards and upwards, right?!
Hopefully you will get your Adsense issue sorted but if not just Google 'Adsense alternatives' or something similar, there are loads of reviews to help you make your choice.
Your site has tons of information and it's definitely NOT "web spam". I really can't see a reason why you wouldn't be accepted by Adsense, but it isn't because you're doing any thing wrong. I have no explanation for that.
Thanks for saying that Steve. I like to think I'm writing good content and I'm certainly putting the effort in. I replied to that person on the forum, asking how they consider it to be web spam and someone else piped up saying it was "thin amazon affiliate". When I asked them to explain they pasted in a link to the policies. It makes me think they haven't read my posts. May have to give up on AdSense for the time being!
I agree. It is obvious that you are putting a LOT of effort into that site and it's not nearly as "salesy" as many I have seen.
I would keep doing what you're doing and try Adsense down the road.

Someone who makes a comment like that not only has no clue what they are talking about, but is projecting their frustrations about their own failures onto someone else. Don't even give it a second thought or let doubt creep into your mind for one minute. Listen to the people who are successful and provide constructive criticism and solutions, not to those who try and insult others because they can't come to terms with their own short-comings. Believe me, I completely understand because there is nothing more frustrating than getting negative feedback that serves no purpose, but to bring you down. Especially, when it is coming from someone that more than likely has no clue what they are talking about in the first place. Keep working hard and moving forward and if you practice patience and work hard, you will get to where you want to be. All the best!
