$286 Per Day? My Friend Said "Don't Do It!"
Around a year ago from the date of writing this post I came up with an idea for a new website and I quickly became pretty excited about the thought of turning that idea into a reality...
However it turned out that in order to do so it was going to require a LOT of work & money.
Anyway I sat & thought about it & tried to weigh it up...
Would the idea that I'd come up with really make me any money? Or would it just see me doing a whole load of work & spending a whole load of money for nothing?
The truth is I couldn't come up with an answer - so I decided to ask a friend.
I remember the conversation well...
"Don't do it" he said.
"It's too risky", he added.
And in a sense he was right. If I did all of that work & spent all of that money & it all turned out to be for nothing - it could be a real bummer for sure.
But you know what else could? The thought of never knowing...
I mean imagine that? Coming across a great opportunity or coming up with a great idea & never pursuing it? Never knowing what could have been, if only you had just tried or stuck with it a little longer?
I personally couldn't live with that - I would rather face failure than regret and so I decided to go ahead with the idea. After all, if I lose some money or time, so what? At least I tried.
So for the past year I have been working on this project...
I have been putting a LOT of hours into it - as well as money.
And all of this time while I have been working on it, it has been making me nothing...
So you may say I am stupid. Why would I work so hard & spend so much money if I wasn't getting anything in return?
Well the answer is because I have a long-term vision - and if you truly want to find success then so should you.
I mean, imagine saying "I'll go to the gym for 1 month and see what happens"...
Obviously NOTHING is going to happen. In fact, many people would laugh at you if you said that because many people know that going the gym for just 1 month won't do anything.
Most people know that if you want to truly get fit or begin to see good changes at the gym you must give it at least 6 months - even a year (and to maintain it, it should be ongoing)...
So why do people have such a different view when it comes to business?
"Oh I'll try affiliate marketing for 1 month see if I can make money"... LOL, come on.
If it was that easy to build an affiliate income - an income that can be generated from anywhere in the world, completely on your own terms, then everybody would be doing it.
But they're not - instead most people are still working jobs they dislike, and the truth is that only a minority end up seeing great success with their businesses.
So what's the secret that seperates that minority?
The long-term vision!! Honestly, that is it. So few people have it... But if you can truly stick with something, whether it be the gym or business for 6, 12 or more months then you will start seeing results no doubt about it - and the harder you work, the greater those results will be.
Which brings me back onto the new website I launched...
Remember I said I had been working hard on it for around 1 year & it had been making me nothing in return? Remember I said you might think I was crazy for doing that?
Remember my friend said "don't do it"?
Well take a look at this:
For the past month that exact website has been making over one hundred dollars per day - sometimes as shown above even more than that.
And I absolutely do not want that to be taking as "bragging or boasting" because that is far from my intention - instead I want you to find motivation from it, because...
Imagine if I had given up during that year where "nothing was happening"?
Imagine if I had taken my friends advice who said "it was too risky"?
...crazy right?
And as I said in one of my previous posts "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now"...
You see honestly, when it comes to the internet there are so many new sales made every day, meaning that as an affiliate there is SO much money out there for the taking - and YOU can be the one taking it providing you are willing to work hard for it & providing you are willing to stick with it, even if you not yet seeing results.
I don't care who you are, what your story is, what your excuses are - YOU can do this.
It's just that in order to do it, you have to truly make the decision to do it.
Don't just "dabble in it"... Don't just "dip your toes"...
Don't be the person that says "if I make some money I'll go Premium"...
Be the person that says "I'm going Premium, because I'm going to make money!".
So if you are currently having any doubts with regards to your business - as to whether or not "it will work" - then I just want this post to serve as motivation to KEEP GOING. 🙂
And on that note that's me signing off, but I'll leave you with yet another quote...
"I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." -- Thomas Jefferson

Congrats Dale - Long term vision, focus, faith in self, ability to adjust as course to keep on target as you learn.
Your example of gym is so appropriate.
Excellent work
Wishing you the best.
Thank you & yes often people can easily see it in terms of the gym - but sadly they don't apply the same to business :)
Great post Dale! It requires alot of discipline to get to where you've gotten your site, and I'm glad to see it's paying off for you. Now, it's $100-$300/day, and hopefully, it will continue to climb.
Thank you very much - and yes, I hope so too - although there is still a lot of work to be done :)
Yes. Same here. I'm looking forward to daily commissions like you though. What do you think is a good traffic and conversion threshold to expect daily commissions? I have passed the milestone of getting daily referrals, but now, I want to get to the "daily commissions" mark. What do you think?
I'm referring to the WA affiliate program.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, the mindset is everything...! Absolutely love the last quote. Your post is truly inspiring!
Thanks for such an inspiring post and the important reminder of the long term view.
It’s very much appreciated at this time, as I am doing something on my website and I’ve also had to take a long term view.
I’m like you. The regret of not doing is far worse than the failure.

That’s such a great post and what you say about Premium is so true. I went Premium in 3 days and it was an annual sub rather than monthy. I had to give it a minimum of 12 months and if you see the last post on my blog, it’s beginning to work.
As Dale says, it’s not IF it works, but WHEN. Give it time, and you’ll wonder what you thought so long and hard about. 😉

Thank you Dave - and that's a great decision you made. I wish everyone would follow your footsteps as that is the perfect mentality. Thanks for your comment.
