About SifuBobby
Joined April 2016
I am a lifelong martial artist who is committed to being richly rewarded for following my passion (Wing Chun kung fu) and helping others functionalize their Wing Chun training in order to develop the self confidence and physical skills necessary to protect themselves, their families and loved ones. I also promote and teach my personal system of simple, effective and practical self defense techniques, concepts and strategies designed to give non-martial artists the tools they need to protect themselves and their families as well as strategies and techniques that martial artists of any discipline can integrate into their daily life while reinforcing their chosen path of martial art system or style.

The thing about online success that I have come to learn is that there is room for ALL of us within the online world. There is no marketplace that is bigger and there is nowhere that represents this kind of opportunity, regardless of your niche, passions and interests (and it only continues to grow!!)

Take action on the training here at WA, immerse yourself within the awesome and helpful community here at WA... and ask for help when you need it. You will be well on your way to achieve your goals Bob!

I love that you want to support your wife and your parents, and that even with an income from your online business, you would still want to pursue an outside career that you're passionate about. (And a very cool career, at that!) Best of luck & power to you! :)

Awesome goals, go for them ! And never be scared to ask questions, for there's always going to be someone to answer them or someone who will be glad that you ask (because they were stuck as well). All the best to you! Cheers =)

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Kyle,

Thanks for the message! I have 2 niches as of now. One is for my site www.makeyourwingchunwork.com and it is basically a blog on my tips and training ideas for practitioners of the wing chun style of kung fu to functionalize and make their training useful for self defense. I will promote at least one product per post.

The other is for the non martial artist who is looking for a simple, effective, easy and practical set of self defense skills. I wrote a book called 'Become a Walking Weapon!" which is on Amazon. My idea for this niche is to have a site www.selfprotectionskills.com which follows the same format as my wing chun site (blog, products, etc.) but I plan to have a 3rd site using the "Squeeze Me" sales letter page template just for my book. I was thinking www.becomeawalkingweapon.com just for the book itself as well as eventually making videos for the book's curriculum. I figure this way I can steer both the non-martial artist as well as the more traditional martial artist of any discipline looking to functionalize their training to that site.

So basically I have 2 niches and a sub-niche (book sales letter page) so far.

I'd love to know what you think. Thanks again for the message and for the WA community!

Your header image is far too large and takes away from your actual content. People need to scroll down in order to see your content. The visuals and the relevant imagery should be placed directly inside your content instead of a static and overwhelming header that shows on every page.

I would either minimize this or remove it altogether, it is not offering any value to your end user and is impacting their experience in a negative way.

Also, I would recommend that you focus on ONE site at a time, it only takes one niche to be very successful online and you are much better off creating success within one before you diversify into others.

Kyle,

Love the coursework so far!! Starting Lesson 5 now=-)

Question: Do you think I should keep the "What I USe" Products tab on my page or just promote those products in my posts? Is this helping or hurting my site and ability to promote product? I haven't seen much by way of this question and wanted to be sure I'm not getting in my own way on this.

Let me know what you think when you have a second-no rush.

Your feedback is very much appreciated and thanks for all you do for all of us!

Yes, you can definitely have a "what I use" page. I think that is a good idea for organization and it is a nice way of saying recommended products/services.
