It depends. It may be a function of your theme (therefore unchangeable), or a function of your pictures. I'm guessing it's your theme though. You might have to experiment with different ones - and now is the time to do it before you've invested a lot of time into this one.

Your site looks good, but I think the header photo is a bit big. It's importent that your visitors see a bit of text/photo without scrolling down. The size you have on your "about me" page is perfect size.
I also saw a few grammar errors on your about me page, it's systems, not sistems, and a few more. You might want to run your articles through a grammar - spelling check. It is not easy for us that write in a different language than our native one :-)) There are some good free apps out there for this.
A part from these little things your site is looking great, and I love your niche :-))

Check and see what it looks like from a mobile phone. That's a really large rotating banner - sometimes mobile users can't see anything beyond that - and multiple pics in the banner can take a long time to load on a phone. But maybe your theme corrects for that.
