Today I feel like giving up.

Yesterday I was on cloud 9. Today, I feel like giving up.

I won't give up, but I feel like giving up.

Why the sudden change?

One word. PEOPLE.

I received an email through one of my posts yesterday from the Business Development Manager of an ISP provider in Las Vegas. He was inquiring about the legalities of paid IPTV subscriptions in USA and he wanted to offer it as a service to his customers.

I immediately tried to set up some dialogue between myself, my supplier and the ISP guy so I fired off an email. This was potentially the breakthrough I had been dreaming of.

It was a dream

After all, I make $6 commission off one subscription. How many do you think the main LV ISP supplier would need. I was guessing 1000's, maybe tens of 1000's. The population of Vegas is 650,000.

My supplier didn't even have the decency to reply. I contact them on live chat and I made sure she had rec'd my email. Oh yes, I got it. I said great, please keep me copied on the dialogue.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

What is wrong with some people? I stressed the importance of this communication and how it could potentially be big business for them and myself.

So, today I feel deflated. I may not even write a post, that's how gutted I am. I can only assume my supplier cannot prove that their system is 100% legal which makes me feel even more down.

The least she could've done was REPLY.

This is the downside of affiliate marketing. You are affiliated to someone else.

Stay positive Craig, something may still come out of all this.

Thanks Harvey, I am already over it and halfway through another post. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't ;-)

I was just a bit p*ssed off at my supplier this morning. Cheers!

Hi Craig,

I feel for you... I know what it's like to be deflated by other people's lack of co-operation... Why Don't They Get It...??!? @+$#****@!

Yesterday I read one of Jason Leister's "Incomparable Expert" newsletters, and it speaks to exactly the kind of frustration that comes from raising your hopes. Here's the link - it's very short and you might even feel "so what?" when you read it, but Jason has a LOT of marketing wisdom to offer:

http://www.incomparableexpert.com/the-myth-of-the-one-thing/

Your point about affiliate marketing is very true. We always have to keep in mind that we do not own - or control - the affiliate program (or its owner).

Keep going. It's all part of our Internet marketing education (paid for in sweat, toil and frustration as well as mula).

David Hurley

Thanks David. I read the article. It's good advice, just to move on and continue down the path towards my goal, which was never chasing after one big thing btw. What happened yesterday was totally unexpected and out the blue but I would've taken it, believe me ;-)

Anyway, onwards and upwards and thanks for the kind words.

Craig.

Hi Craig,
I feel for you. I've been in that position when I worked as a Realtor. I had to give myself the advise it wasn't mean't to be, why, because something better is going to come your way to fulfill your dream. I live in Henderson, NV which is a suburb of Las Vegas. Our population is now over 3 million people. Just keep reaching out, don't second guess yourself, (especially in a product you believe in). When you least expect it the right person will be truly honest about purchasing your product.

Best wishes and success.
Doris

Thanks Doris, it may still be a possibility but I just don't understand why they wouldn't reply, it doesn't make business sense. Maybe you have heard of the ISP in Vegas, they are called http://LV.Net

I just checked their website, they serve Henderson. You could've (maybe still will) be watching TV in the future with my IPTV system :)

Wow. I can understand feeling down about that. I feel frustration for you. Just keep going. The fact that this came up AT ALL is a sign that you are doing things right. Where there is one opportunity, there will be more.

I'm not really in a position to judge, but from what I see, you are doing a great job. I have no doubt that something equally good or better will come along in time.

Cheers Craig, I know I was super excited yesterday when I started to think about the possibilities. I need to dust myself down and re-focus, thanks.

Cheers and Laughter!
Hi Craig, I think we all have traveled that road at some point and time. Business is like that, it can be shakey at times especially when you on the other side of the fence.

Just continue on and live for this day because better ones are coming.

Let's hope so Louisa! Thanks for taking time to leave a reply, I appreciate it.

I did a double take when I read the post title and who it was from, I actually thought there would be a little twist to the story.

Yes, we need people and unfortunately, some of them are just not too bright, polite or considerate.

The reality is that you can only control your own actions, Craig. You really are one of the most consistent people I see on this platform. It's OK to feel a bit down...but there's no need to stay down there for too long. Maybe they will come around or maybe there something bigger and better in store for you, Craig.

Either way, you're doing an incredible job!!!

All true V! Yes, I'll try and pick myself up later. Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot.

This is the issue with business .. one neeeds to deal with people! But there maybe a 1000 reason why the reply situation. I know I am saying things that you already know. I have also learned that other peoples priorities are not the same as my priorities. The focus is always on geeting the next customer. Excuse me for telling you how to suck eggs. I feel for you Craig. Cheers, William.

Yes William, I did think there may be another reason why she couldn't be 4rsed to reply but I'm leaning towards my supplier not being able to confirm the legalities. After all, a major ISP would want to avoid any law suits, for sure. Cheers and thanks for the kind words.

Hey...that was NOT on YOU...it was on the rude idiot on the other end...remember, "No one can put you down without YOUR permission!"...don't give the Liliputians the satisfaction...you DO remember the Liliputians in "Gulliver's Travels", right!

True Arthur and yes I'm of an age where I remember the Lilliputians and Gulliver's Travels! (unfortunately one might say)

Keep moving forward and keep looking ahead

thanks Karin

Don't even slam the door. just go on to the next one. You are becoming a vetted marketer!

Yeah good advice Mike. Cheers.
