Some tips on making your website accessible for blind readers
1) alt tags should be brief and don't use abbreviations as their reader messes them up
2) click here for more is not helpful - messes up the reader and they might not get the 'rest of the story' . better to say click here for the rest of the story on bora bora ;)
3) think about placing your blog roll on the right - again the computer readers for the blind are programmed for this placement. but if you place skip links ? this placement can altered - something i need to do on my blog
there are other tips but my hand is getting tired

Cindy, I concur with Eric, I had no idea it was meant for low vision. So now you taught me something new AGAIN!
As far as SEO is concerned, I highly recommend adding alt tags (alt text) to every image on your webiste.
I recommend adding your best low competition keyword as your alt text to all your images. This is how I achieved over 160+ images indexed and ranked high in Google. Even when doing an incognito search.
PM me anytime if you need additional informatiom. So happy your surgery went well today!
Blessings,
Kaju
First: Glad your surgery went fine!
And now to your question: I always used it until know for SEO. I didn't know it was meant to help people with low vision. I even don't know how that should work. Can you let me know where I can get some information? Thanks Cindy!
P.S. I read what you did for Kaju. Absolutely Top! Her name is CL Peterson

I am glad your surgery went well.
Yes, alt tags (under) your images helps with SEO whether your surfer is on a lap/desk top or mobile device.
