Never Look Back. Worst. Advice. Ever.
I've been here a while now and I've learned a lot. I'm amazed at all the techinical stuff there is to this website business. I'm astounded at how much I didn't know, how much I didn't know I didn't know. And I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm actually able to learn it.
The truth is that I've begun to feel like I can really do this. I can really be an affiliate marketer, I can really run my own website and I can really have the freedom to retire from the hampster wheel of a 9-to-5.
When I started my social media campaign, I decided to post my older stuff. Start from the beginning, if you will. I would post different articles on different platforms, so the person who had Facebook and Twitter would not be seeing the same article on the same day. I had grand plans.
Then I looked at them. Remember how I mentioned how much I didn't know that I didn't know? Well there it was. Not the writing so much but the awkward picture placement, uneven spacing, too long paragraphs and headers that were not consistant throughout the article. It was all wrong. So very wrong.
I think it goes without saying that the focus of my day has changed. I'm currently going through my older stuff and cleaning them up.
The moral of this story? The next time someone tells you to never look back...tell 'em that's the Worst. Advice. Ever.

ha ha, nice one Cindy. I'm currently looking back at some posts. Did you update your copyright info on your site? I haven't yet but it should be done soon.
Steve
I'm not sure that I have copywrite info on my site. Why would I need it or need to update it?
So true, we improve over time with our writing and layout etc., and like you I have went back to my older posts and improved them to make them better for seo. It certainly makes a difference.
I agree. The things that I wrote when I was new to all of this are very different than what I do now. So, it is important to go back and rewrite, correct, add and delete. Thanks for the reminder.oI agree. The things that I wrote when I was new to all of this are very different than what I do now. So, it is important to go back and re-read, correct, add and delete. Well, it kinda depends on what your looking back on. Some things you don't need to look back on. What you're doing though is good and is helping to make a better life for yourself. So maybe not look back so much as review.
Take care
Charlotte
So true, Charlotte! I'm a big believer in "the past is the past" but since this affects my future I thought it was worth the effort! ;-)
You are doing great. Keep going forward.!
