Hi everyone,
I would be grateful for some advice on how and where to build high quality backlinks... Are social media sites my best bet?
Thanks
Here is one that was recently shared by Mike Kearns recently. Below is a link to Mike's post and another to the backlink site. I'll be digging into this later today or tomorrow as well. Peace. :-) Backlink assistance needed ASAP http://www.webconfs.com/seo-tools/backlink-builder/
Hey Christian, if you type Backlinks into the search bar at the top of the feed you will find all kinds of posts, trainings and support for that topic. Trust me the search bar here will become your best friend and resource.
Best of luck.

P.S. Kyle really teaches content, content, content. I am about 1/3 of the way through both the Bootcamp and the Certification and backlinks has not even been mentioned to any great extent.
Hi Damo, thanks for the advice I will checkout the search feature a lot more.
I'm roughly half way through the certification training and no sign of backlinks mentioned there either but there is a lot on building social media profiles.
Thanks again for your help

Hi David, thanks for the advice I will checkout the link too.
I have just finished reading a post from Kyle about backlinks. It seems that since the Google penguin update, Google has more of a preference to good quality content and overall user experience than building backlinks. Are Backlinks Good for Rankings? Nope. Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated.
Yes, that's true because many abused this feature. This issue is still highly controversial as to whether it is still relevant.
Stick to Kyle's training when in doubt.
It's all about quality backlinks. Apparently moving away from this though...

Hi, I know from the training, Kyle says that you shouldn't have too many affiliate links in your posts. They should really be on a product review, which is independent from the
Hi Christian,
My website - http://timotheuslee.com - has ranked on 1st page for a long time now. And on some searches, it is even #1 position. And I do have banner ads using widgets on my Side Bar. It did not affect my rankings.
If you do a Google Search with keywords - Digital Marketing Consultant Singapore or even just Digital Marketingn Consultant - you can see my website ranked on 1st page or #1.
It looks like what is most important is that we produce quality and relevant content. That will get us to the 1st page or #1.
Just my humble view.
P.S. Yes, I do check using Private mode or Incognito
Hi, that's good to know thanks. I removed the banner ads on my site and opted for text links, but now I know that rankings won't be affected, I will look to put them back on in the future.
Thanks again, I found this really helpful!
My pleasure, Christian. Feel free to let me know if you need any further information. Great success to you! :)
I have just been reading some interesting articles on the subject and from what I gather, less is probably more when comes to affiliate links on a new site. I will create product reviews and link to those pages with a strong call to action. By keeping affiliate links contained to a review page, I'm less likely to be hit with a penalty further down the line.
You don't need to put a banner on every page.
Having widgets on your Sidebar will ensure that they are seen whatever page your visitors land on.
You can also have a Featured Image on whatever page you want.

Hi, I'm using a plugin that enables me to place relavent banners for each post/topic on my site. This allows me to have a banner ad in the sidebar that is targeting a specific affiliate product directly relating to what each post is about.
The only drawback to this is i have to manually go through and place them in each post. Will this have any negative impact on my Google rankings?
Google may indeed punish you for too many banners.

Thanks for your help, it's really appreciated. I think it's probably wise not to over do it too much with the banner ads then. I Will only use them for targeting certain posts.
Thanks again
Christian
If its absolutely necessary, yes.
I don't understand why you would want so many.
And yes best not to go mad with banners, especially above the fold.
Enjoy your day/evening.
