Seriously! Someone Stole My Truck Today!

WA Family,

I just don't get it! I can't win for losing. And today I don't know how much more I can take! I have to talk to somebody about this before my head explodes.

Let me tell you what happened today about 5 hours ago. Well, in my timezone, that was at 11 AM. My best friend needed me to run an errand to the gas station, which is about 3 minutes from my home.

As I went into the gas station for what she wanted. I jumped back into my truck to head home. Before driving off, I realized I left some items at the register. I left my truck running to go back into the station to get items I left (that was the worse thing I did). Walking back out to my truck, my truck was gone.

A man that was just released from jail this morning, took it upon himself to take my truck for a joy ride, I guess. When I came out the store which was about seconds, my truck was gone. I thought I was seeing things at first.

Until a woman started yelling from the pumps," That man just stole your truck!" Everybody at this gas station knows me very well. Therefore, as the mountain people, which I love, they went after him. Some stood back with me to help call the police.

I don't know if you read my post from yesterday about me quitting cigarettes. I should have smoked a whole pack within those 5 hours with my stress level going through the roof. Actually, I have not lit not one cigarette. I'm still trying to hold on though...

One thing I really want to do, is cry my eyes out. Then I keep asking myself what is that going solve? Nothing....

I know some of you may be thinking that I shouldn't be upset, my insurance will pay for it. They would have if I didn't turn my insurance off this past Friday because I was selling my truck by this Wednesday. Well, not anymore.

Today has been a day, that I wasn't expecting at all. Someone stole my truck and then tries to wreck it to get a way. As my truck hits a big ditch and cannot move. That ass leaves my truck to run away from the police on foot. I felt my truck was on an episode of,"COPS."

All I can do right now is shake my head in disbelief of all this mess...

The lesson of this story is: always be aware of your surroundings at all times. Don't leave your car running, not even for a second. It doesn't matter if you know your hometown like the back of your hand. Be cautious of everything and everyone.

Til Next Time Family...

Hi Chrisie1,
I'm so sorry this happened to you!

It sounds like you have a great attitude about everything.

It sounds like such a scary situation too, probably very lucky you didn't have any direct interaction with the person who stole your car.

I saw a really nice comment you posted on a post by WayneTowns here at WA, which is what led me to follow you and read some of your posts. I don't know if you heard this elsewhere on WA, but I learned some very sad news tonight on someone else's prior post (from March) on WA. I'm sorry to let you know this if you didn't already hear about it. I did not know Wayne Towns, but I learned tonight that he died in a terrible car accident in March (2019) - when a felon (B. Chavez) who had carjacked a car was being chased by police at 2pm in the afternoon in Dallas, TX hit Wayne Towns' car in the intersection. Here is a link from the Dallas news: http://www.fox7austin.com/news/texas/dallas-carjacking-suspect-crashed-during-police-chase-killing-another-driver

When I read your kind comment on one of his posts, I came to your WA account and was reading your posts, when I read the one above about your car being stolen by a guy who just had gotten out of jail that morning. . .It was very sobering. It must have been scary - I'm so glad you are safe and weren't hurt by the car thief who stole your truck. So sorry that any of that happened : (

Reading the tragic news about WayneTowns tonight, and reading your post above, really are making me think about counting every blessing, every moment, especially family and friends.

I wish you all the best and look forward to reading about your successes here at WA.

So sorry to hear about that terrible experience, Chrisie. Glad you weren't hurt, and that they caught and arrested him. Hope you can get your truck fixed and sold soon. Carol

Hi Chrisie, what a blow! hopefully you can have your truck repaired before then selling it. Meanwhile borrow a push bike.
Cheers Jae ☼

It is good to know you are safe. Other things can be resolved.

Glad you were not harmed.

Sheila

Sorry to hear this . Ma you have an effective recovery Chrisie!

That's lousy. Sorry to hear about your experience.

~Mark :)

Thank you for listening. I never thought I would have a vehicle stolen from me around here. Maybe in my hometown(in the city), not here(in the stix).

Wow what a day I know I have had mine but not this bad. So did you get your truck back? Is it still working?

I did get my truck back. He was also arrested. My truck is still running barely but needs a lot of work now.

He tried jumping a steep ditch with no momentum and I have a Dodge Ram full cab 1500. It went straight into the ditch. My dumper has to be replaced. And it's leaking coolant but it's still drivable. Just don't know how far though...

O mercy I am so sorry hun. I am glad to know he is caught just wish there was a way to make him pay for it all now.

Glad they caught him, sorry you had this experience
