Still They Come - I Have A Steady Stream
Following my deluge of followers on Friday 26th April, I have had a steady stream of people following me now on Instagram which is nice to see.
Unfortunately though I have noticed that my number of followers have gone down. As I have never really went through my followers, I am not sure if there have been a lot of people unfollowed me as they do. I always say it is their decision, but I don't think it is something I could do myself.
One thing I never do use is the automation aspect (check out Kyle's blog from 1st May below) as I think it is more personal to answer someone personally and you can if you want then start up a conversation with them. You never know, they may be interested in what you are doing.

I know that you can get people on instagram who will start up a conversation with you and they appear to want to know all about you. If you feel uneasy with these people then just ignore them or feel free to block them even. If you ignore them they will just go to someone else. I have had people ask for money or gift cards to which I have politely told them I cannot do and when they have asked why I just ignore them.
I have had people asking me to speak to them on whatsApp or hangouts as they want to get to know me better. My reply to these people are "I am happily married and will have been for 30 years this year. I have a grown up daughter and twin boys and therefore cannot help them in this matter". You soon find out who are genuine and who are being pests as they disappear. I don't mind speaking to people as I am a sociable person but I will not go elsewhere to talk. If they can't talk to me there on instagram then that's their problem.
I will say though, you can get these people across all the different Social Media platforms so it is not just instagram.
I am noticing that my numbers are back to climbing again after dropping quite a bit.
Do not be afraid of using instagram and if you have a business account for your website you can also link it to pinterest and to your business page on Facebook where you can also share your instagram posts as you put them on instagram. If you use tailwind for pinterest then you can share your instagram posts automatically and directly to Pinterest. It is a good platform to use.

Thanks Barbara, definitely give instagram a try and facebook too. I am sure if it works for me it will work for anyone.
You don't need to get into conversations with anyone, I just think it is a nice personal touch.

Hi Mick, If you use Pinterest regularly then Tailwind is really worthwhile and as I said you can put your instagram posts into tailwind as well and they will be issued on Pinterest.

I've heard about this whole thing where people follow you just to have you follow them back and then unfollow you. Instagram and all social media is a mixed bag in my opinion.

Hi Erica, yes they follow to get lots following back and then unfollow you again. To me this sounds like they are desperate lol.
It happens on them all but it seems to get noticed more on instagram.

Debbie, the best thing is to share your posts on your Facebook page and then it will only show part of the post but when people click on it then it takes them to the full post.

Hey Cheryl, that is typical behavior these days on IG..Felicia has talked about this in her seminars as well.

Thank you friend and it was because of you and Felicia that I was aware of this and knew what it meant.
I remember reading and commenting on this blog when you did it and it really was good to see what people are up to so they can satisfy themselves thinking that they have a great following even though they aren't following many. The strange thing is though I have looked a couple of times since and can honestly say I have never saw anyone who has unfollowed me at all so I don't know.

That's good C, just remember there is alot of vanity on IG, and people are following you so you follow them, just so they can unfollow you later so they have a better follower-to-following ratio than You!
It's all a Silly Ego Game, and it doesn't mean they have any engaged customers!
You can see that friend that there is a lot of vanity. If that's what they want to do then they can get on with it. I may go through my followers and do the same one day - not, not my style and I never created my account just to get followers.
If you ask me, they are just desperate to get followers lol. xxxx
