From Happy To Sad In A Week

It has been a mixture of happiness and sadness over the last few weeks for myself and my family.

Through the month of November, we have celebrated my own birthday, my father-in-laws birthday, my dad's birthday and my twin's birthdays. Unfortunately the birthdays of my twins were also tinged with sadness.

On the 15th my father-in-law turned 89 then sadly on the morning of the 23rd November he sadly passed away. It came as a complete shock to us all to lose such a great man. He was a much loved husband, dad, grandad and great-grandad to all the family as well as being a good friend to lots of people.

He was a gentleman with a dry sense of humour and could come out with some great one-liners. He loved nothing better than to see all his family together at the same time, especially Christmas.

My poor mother-in-law who is now 86, has recently been diagnosed with vascular dementia and my father-in-law was her rock and did everything for her as well as keeping her right with medication. Unfortunately, everything now is all so confusing for her and up in the air as we are not sure what it going to happen next. She is determined that she is staying in her own house, but we will need to see.

So folks, if I am not around a lot then you know why. I will pop in from time to time but I don't have the time I used to have at the minute with everything that is going on.

I hope everyone is either ready, nearly ready or getting ready for Santa as he will be here soon. Please make sure you are on the nice list although I am sure one or two will be on the naughty list this year. I wont mention any names though.

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone and have a good

So sorry you had both such intense times in the same month. It's hard to take care of aging parents. I've done that and it's exhausting, but worth it. You will always be happy for having put in the time when you had the chance. Good luck and hang in there.

Thank you, yes it is definitely hard. It was a shock for us all and he did everything for my husband's mum. In the short time that she has stayed with us we can see her getting more and more confused and it is so sad.

It is very hard for sure. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you. xxx
