Google published its annual report of the top Google searches for 2020. This annual trending report is prepared by category and reveals the most used keywords for visitors using Google to search the internet.

It is always a very revealing report.

The Year We Asked, "Why?"

In 2020, there are currently over 2 trillion Google searches, every day!

Out of those 2,000,000,000,000 most of them started with "why . . . "

Not surprisingly, most of the search inquiries were connected to the global pandemic and Google recognises this in their 3-minute introductory video. It serves as a moving testimony to the human spirit and our resilience.

Searches for recipes and the famous "what day is it?" question broke all-time records. The way we continue to adapt to our changed way of life continues to dominate.

You can view the report and its findings in Google Trends.

Here are a couple of snapshots:

Google Trends is an excellent research website for keyword trending and can provide you with many ideas for shaping and directing your content strategies.

Make the most of your weekend and expand your knowledge and content bank for 2021.

Hi Cassi,

Google Trends is just one of many outside sources that can help find topics to write about and keywords associated with those topics.

By following topics related to your niche alone should help you find products to promote, topics to concentrate on, and keywords that will increase your organic traffic quickly.

Nice share,

Calvin

Very nice summary and reminders, Calvin.

Thank you.

Whenever I ask my wife any question that starts with Why?

Her answer is - "Not Why"

This really threw me the first time I heard it. I was forced to reevaluate my question and examine the reasons I wanted to know.

I do not ask her a why question very often anymore - so most likely she accomplished her initial objective.....

Google is our go-to spot for answers now and while useful, I am not sure we are better off.

Google knows all and is a great tool for internet marketers. But, am not looking forward to the time when that information will be used against us. Make no mistake Google is selling all of this information to anyone who wants it.

Insurance companies are tracking what we do and adjusting their protocols accordingly. This is just one use of our information.

Food for thought.

Alex

You do provide excellent food for thought, Alex.

All of our information on the internet must go somewhere.
That I do believe.

Thank you very much for sung thought-provoking perspectives.

Cassi

Thanks for this information, Cassi!

Jeff

You are welcome, Jeff.

Thank you, Cassi😎

Wow! This is incredible. Thank you for sharing this. It's very interesting and a great tool when you get stuck in your search for keywords.

Have a great weekend.

Cathy

Yes, it is, Cathy.

You are welcome.

Cassi, that's incredible. Two million million a day. That's more than the number of people on the planet. Who's answering all these questions then, they must be mighty busy.
I think the internet might be here to stay.
Two million million, wow. All we need is a tiny tiny fraction of that to find our website and ... BOOM!
Thank you Cassi
Bux

That IS the point, Bux!!

All we need is a little. 🙂

Keep writing.
Cassi

Absolutely will do. I'm still in shock at the number.
Its going to be a late night tonight.
Bux

Not surprising given that 4.5 billion people have internet access. Enjoy!
