A Working Weekend

This continues to be a working weekend for me. I really do not mind because soon our beaches will be opened again and we will be heading off there to bask in all of its glory. After months of closure our seas and rivers are crystal clear, clean and so very inviting.

I cannot wait!

It is a rainy weekend and my daughter is away with her cousins, so I have all the time to relax with my websites, explore, research, do training, connect and support within our WA community.

This is a good time to catch up on some lagging goals.

Subscription Invitation Embedded

A couple of weeks ago I started my Mailing List using MailChimp and have been receiving consistent growth in traffic and sign ups for one of my new Newsletters. My Mailing List is growing quickly and that excites me.

Thank you to everyone who helped me make that decision. I could not have done it without you. MailChimp is free until I reach 2,000 Subscribers which will not be long. I intend to continue to build out my growth strategy in quick time.

It seems that the little dabbling I have been doing on Social Media (SM) and my consistent writing of blogs is paying off.

I could not be happier!

Online Entrepreneur Certification - Level 4 - Again!

My objective this weekend was to get my SM strategy fully implemented. To do that effectively, I returned to Wealthy Affiliate's (WA) Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) with Kyle. Level 4 is one of those training levels that you should do more than once I think.

After completing 2 posts, I got to fine-tuning my first company's presence across my chosen SM platforms:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

If you have not done any of this yet, I STRONGLY recommend that you do and begin your personal and business branding in the expansive digital world.

Here's a little peek into my branding for one of my online businesses.

Facebook

Twitter

Pinterest Deserves Special Mention

I am really enjoying Pinterest and highly recommend that you get yourself on board, especially women and those of you who are building businesses that would appeal to women. They dominate Pinterest so make sure you are emotive and action-oriented with your Pins and Posts.

I started 2 new Boards today and will be using them to roll out Campaigns across other SM platforms.

A new Pinterest Board launched today

This Board will lead my 2020/Q3 campaign for the company and also be the impetus for beginning the company's online transition in July 2020. Things are already progressing better than I expected having started with Facebook some time ago..

What I love about Pinterest is that it is professional and well-organised. Pinners seems to know what they are about and are open to sharing, connecting and supporting.

Just like we do at WA.

Keep your visuals bold and attractive though. We tend to see first and then move in to engage more if we are attracted.

I Need A Bigger Screen!

So, this is what my screen header currently looks like:

Moving forward, that will be the new "normal". And, that is only for ONE of my businesses! But this way, I can easily switch and move around as I want to. I also do not have the opportunity to get bored or forget.

I can easily see notifications coming in and respond accordingly.

Social Media Requires Discipline and Focus

I know that Kyle has said this before but I feel the need to reiterate.

SM can be an abyss if you are not disciplined and focused. It is easy to get caught up in discussions, other people's posts, shiny objects, games and many other things.

Do not allow yourself to fall into that trap. One clip "just quickly" can turn into a lost and wasted day.

That said. SM is the enigine that attracts visitors to you and your online businesses. Do it well and you will enjoy endless returns, financially and otherwise.

Hi Cassi,

What is your primary means to build your mailing list? Do you invite individuals to subscribe to your list and send them a freebie if they enter their Email address?

If you do that, what is your mechanism to automate the sending of the freebie part?

Sorry for all these questions. I am not afraid to show how much I do not know.

Thanks.

Edwin

P.S. I have bookmarked your training on PInterest that I will be reviewing after I have written more posts. I am way behind and that is my main focus before doing other things.

Hi Edwin,

So good to hear from you and know that you are doing well.

No need to apologise.
We are all here to learn and support each other.

To answer your question:
I have chosen to use MailChimp to build my Mailing List.
It is embedded in my website and visitors can simply send me their name and email address to subscribe.

I also have a pop-up (again through MailChimp) that appears after a few seconds and invites them to subscribe.

My Newsletter is done monthly and will be emailed to my subscribers.
I will also be offering ebooks, webinars, discussion forums and other support materials.

My schedule for that will begin at the beginning of July.

Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Be safe and well.
Cassi

Such a great post! I really need to get more involved in social media. I may have to revisit Lesson 4.

Thank you, Erika.

You should.
I went through it 4 times.
It is VERY important.

Be safe and well.
Cassi

You should consider making a training video for social media if you haven’t already!

I love that idea, Erika.

YouTube is me next focus, starting in July 2020.

Thank you!
Cassi

Great progress Cassi. Building your mailing list is certainly a very important step.
A word of caution about using Mailchimp - be very careful about sending out an email containing an affiliate link. Mailchimp are very harsh on this and have been known to close accounts of people who break this rule.
Pinterest certainly seems to be a favourite of many here. I have a Pinterest account so i should really do more with it.

Thanks
Dave

Dave, so good to hear from you and get your feedback.

My research did indicate that MailChimp is not Affiliate-friendly.
I have a workaround for that though.
I really like their simplicity and ease of use.

Once I work effectively and speedily I may not be there for long,
Free is good for now.

You should look into Pinterest.
It seems to be exploding at the moment.
I am having very good results.

Many thanks, as always.
Cassi

What about other email providers? Are they doing the same? What about Pretty links?

Hilde, you can read some WA member feedback on other mailing platforms here: Cassi

Hi Hilde
I am currently using Aweber for my email lists but I have been doing some research and I am going to move everything over to Active Campaign at the end of June.

Cheers
Dave

Dave,

I do not know about Active Campaign, but I will definitely look into it.

Thank you.
Cassi

Very great information thank you

You are welcome, Dorrie.

Great information Cassi.
I’m going to try and get somewhere this week with social media.
I can’t get a handle on Pinterest. I just don’t get it. I have watched Jays webinars on it as well. I will forget that one for now.
Have a great week
Lisa

Lisa,

Pinterest is great and really easy.
I may do a "lay man's" training on it soon.

The faster you get onto the SM wheel, you faster you will see results.

Thank you so much.
Cassi

Thank you very much, I look forward to your training
