WA Week 0: A New Year A New Format to Track Process
First off...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I ended up celebrating right under the Taipei 101 sitting on a uBike (the public biking system) with a basket full of Taiwan Beer. :D
Someone mentioned me not being able to use what I write here on a personal site and I never got around to looking for where it said that. I really didn't have much time to until today. Finally found it on this page:

It's number 3: Do not copy content from WA and post it somewhere else on the Internet. This includes copying your own blog content and putting it on your website.
Sadness. :(
This changes how I'll have to approach blogging here. Writing here was dual purposed. I was creating content in the now and creating content that I could use somewhere else at a later date.
What I want to do is clean up and drip release the content I've been creating here to create an onboarding process to sell the Wealthy Affiliate membership. Then I could give people a play by play of how I used the system so they would know what to expect before they signed up while building rapport along the way.
I'm still going to do this, but I'm just going to do the same writing within a Google Doc and keep my blogging here more focused on the technical aspects of setting up my sites and progress I'm making with and what I'm learning from the trainings.
I'll still most definitely be adding personal tidbits to the posts because that's what I like to do! They'll just come in weekly chunks. To be honest, weekly updates are probably more suitable to post here than dailies anyway.
It's kind of perfect that the start of the year landed on a Sunday! Sunday is the perfect day to reflect on the week and put the finishing touches on a post before submitting it.
I am excited about continuing with the lessons and I'm looking forward to posting an update in a week!

Yeah, seems like a better speed. I do love being able to share updates with people who are all here for the exact same reasons.
The duplicate content thing is weird. I'm going to look into it more. I imagine there must be a threshold of some kind. Websites, for example, cross post content. I imagine the amount of "cross posted" content that would be generated from this site would throw up a lot of red flags.
You might know this and I don't remember seeing anything specific. Does this still apply if you make the posts for members only? I imagine it still does. Just keeps things simpler.
I'm not aware of being able to make the posts for members only. I know you can flag training for Premium members only, but if we're able to do that for blogs, I'm not aware of it.
Yeah you can do it for blogs too. I'm pretty sure there's a drop down arrow in the top write corner of the new blog post modal. There's three options. Premium Only, Hidden, and not Shareable.
No prob! It seems like making them members only would be cross posting OK. I'm not going to investigate too deeply. The weekly updates work. :)

I once asked the question if I could post my website content here and the answer was yes and so that's what I did for two posts. What would be the ill effect?
Duplicate content penalties from Google, although they claim those don't exist. Specifically for WA it is against the SPAM rules, so if they discover the content elsewhere, you could lose your write access here at Wealthy Affiliate for a violation of the rules.
