Have Fun Learning 10: How to Log Into WordPress
As the majority of us had experienced late Friday night and early Saturday morning, depending on where you live, the entire WA website was off line. No one was able to login to their WA profiles and thus could not get access to their websites through the Site Manager.
However, do you know how to log into WordPress to access your website without having to go through WA? It is really easy to do and just requires you to know a couple of things which I will show you below.
HOW TO MANUALLY GET INTO YOUR WORDPRESS DASHBOARD
You first want to save your website admin password and to do this you can find it in your Site Manager under Password. NOTE: Make sure to save your admin password only. See image below.
Once you have your admin password you want to use your website domain name and then at the end you want to type /wp-admin It would look something like this...
This will then bring up the WordPress login screen. You will then want to type in your Username or the Email Address you used to register your website with WordPress. Then just add your admin password and you now have access to your WordPress dashboard, see image below.
COMPUTER NETWORKS LIKE WA WILL GO DOWN AT TIMES
As massive as the WA website network is, it is amazing how well it operates with very few big server problems. As someone who has worked as a QA Engineer for both software and hardware while in the video game industry, I understand that service problems WILL happen.
But I am very pleased at how quick and thorough the WA technicians are behind the scenes. Kyle and Carson have done a great job in hiring people who work around the clock at making things run as smoothly as possible for the rest of us.
Of course there are always those things that you can personally do to determine if the problem is with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or maybe even your own internal network. Sometimes unplugging and then plugging in your modem will clear up login problems.
Then sometimes the problems with computer internet connectivity can be the result of using an inferior website browser.
Or sometimes the problem can be more closer to home...so to speak.
But don't you hate it when software and computer networks will give you the possible problems but do not directly tell you what it is?
However the majority of the time when something as big happens as the entire shutdown of an enormous website network like WA, the problem could be as simple as an unplugged network cable. Even though the problem might be simple, finding and fixing it may not be.
So have patience with those behind the scenes because they may have their problem search and fix as a big undertaking. Then once they do fix things they will have to do system checks to make sure all things are back up and running smooth.
This is why there were still minor glitches occurring after the WA website came back online. Regardless of what happened a day or two ago, my hats off to Carson and all of the other technicians that keep our entire WA technical experience running smoothly.
Your thoughts on the WA technicians and how this problem was resolved?

I knew something was up because really strange things were happening when I was reading my email and then going on my site to read. Moments and reply to people that were following me. Now for some odd reason I. Ant get any of the training. Ideas to play. No profile pic is up, rather no pictures or images at all are working now. It doesn't make any sense why it's not working at all now. Donna
Not quite yet. I think some of it has to do with the speed of my computer/phone at this point. But I'm still getting info that says notifications on top of the list and then it goes through everything that I have done here at WA step by step, comment by comment, reply by reply and everything and then this list will include the last persons site that I was on and a lot of thier comments and replies with thier pic and all the names of people that replied to them. In other words, it's a list of everything I've done, has everything on the site, classroom by classroom, everything.
Is this normal? Donna
Thanks, I always use my name instead of admin, and it never worked. Now I know. Thanks Robert.
Thank you Robert, excellent post, the team that keeps WA going really deserve our gratitude.
Great post, Rob. Good to know there is a "workaround". I wrote it down and saved it for "posterity", or that next glitch!

Thank you Bill and it will work for you and everyone else should we need it in the future.
Great post, Robert.
I always say that technic is only as advanced as the person behind can control it. No matter what it's capable of.
And due to its nature, technical things do break, if we like it or not.
I wasn't able to log into WA for 6 hours. I wasn't bothered because I thankfully have my website login details on my computer and I know from past experience that WA tech support is one of the best I've come across in this industry.
They've done a fine and fast job and I agree with you that they deserve a pat on the shoulder.
We forget too many times to include them in our gratitude to Kyle and Carson. They, together as a team, deserve a thank you and our patience when it comes to fixing a broken server. :)
Thank you for sharing. Love the images!
